Back Up & Installation Of Software

Steps to take Database Backup:

1 Go to
Start  All Programs  Mysql  Mysql Administrator
2. On the left Panel you will find Backup link---------Click on that link
3. In that window you will find a New Project button in the footer---- Click on that
Button
4. Now in schemata----select projectmanage and click on > button
Which project manage appear on right box
5. Click on Execute Backup Now button and save the file in the required
location.

Please take the backup of the projectmanage database.

Take the backup of the following installation files into a CD, if you have
already: -
1. Apache-tomcat-5.5.23.exe.
2. Ejabberd-1.1.4-windows-installer.
3. Java Runtime environment (jre 1.5 exe).
4. Java Development Kit (jdk 1.5 exe).
5. Mysql-administrator-1.1.9-win.
6. Mysql-essential-5.0.24a-win32.
7. Mysql-query-browser-1.1.10-win.

Important Note:
Take the backup of the following into a separate CD
1. Folder named “webapps” under the following location.
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\
2. The folder “ zenportal ” under the “ E:\ Drive. ”
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES OF VARIOUS SOFTWARES

First of all copy all the installation files listed above to your system.

Installation procedure for Java: -


1. Double click on the installation file of the jdk1.5.
2. By default the installation path is shown as follows: -
C:\program files\Java\ jdk1.5.0_06 (Keep the installation path
as it is)
3. Proceed with the installation.
4. After installing jdk the following “ Environment Variables “ should be added:
-
a) Right click on “ My Computer”, click on “Properties”.
b) Now click on the tab “Advanced ” and click on “ Environment
Variables ”.
c) Now in “ User variables for Administrator “, click on “New” and
add the following environment variable
Variable - JAVA_HOME
Value - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06
d) Now in “ System Variables “, select the environment variable “ Path”,
click on “Edit”, the copy and paste the following to it at the end
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\bin;
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\lib;
e) Click on OK finally.

Installing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE): -

1. Double click on the installation file.

2. By default the installation path is shown as follows: -


C:\Program Files\Java\ jre1.5.0_06 (Keep the installation path
as it is)
3. Proceed with the installation.

This completes the installation of Java.

Installation Procedure For Tomcat: -

1) Double click on the “ apache-tomcat-5.5.23.exe “ to start the installation.


2) Click on “Next” to continue.
3) Now click on “ I Agree ”.
4) Now “ Select the type of install “ as “ Full “, then click on “ Next “.
5) In Choose Install Location by default the destination folder is given as
follows: -
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5 (Keep the
installation path as it is) then click on “ Next “.
6) Specify the configuration details as follows: -
a) HTTP/1.1 Connector Port - 8080
b) User Name: admin
c) Password: (Please leave the password field blank, click on “ Next “)
7) Here you have to specify the jre path. By default the jre path is shown, keep
the installation path as it is.
8) Click on “ Install “. This installs the Tomcat server.
9) After installation is complete please uncheck the following and click on Finish.
a) Run Apache Tomcat.
b) Show Readme.
10) This completes the installation of Tomcat.

Now add an environment variable for Tomcat as follows:


a) Right click on “ My Computer “, click on Advanced tab and click on
Environment Variables.
b) Now in “ User variables “ add the following add the following by
clicking on new
Variable Name  TOMCAT_HOME
Variable value C:\Program Files\Apache Software
Foundation\Tomcat 5.5
Important note: -
a) Now from the following location replace the “webapps” folder with the
“webapps” folder, which is taken as a backup.
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5.
b) Copy rt.jar file from C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\jre\lib. to
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat
5.5\common\lib.

Installation Procedure for Mysql Database: -

1) Double click on mysql-essential-5.0.24a-win32.exe, to start the


installation.
2) Click on “ Next “.
3) Choose the setup type as “Typical” and click on Next.
4) Click on “ Install “. This install Mysql database.
5) Now a window with name “ MySQL.com signup ” is shown.
6) Here choose “ Skip signup ” and click on Next.
7) Now “ Wizard Completed “ window is shown with “ Configure the MySQL
server now “ option checked. Keep it as it is and click on “ Finish “.
Note: - Please do not uncheck the “Configure the MySQL server now “
option.
8) Now click on “ Next “.
9) In this window the “ Detailed Configuration “ option is checked by default,
now click on “ Next “.
10) Now in this window “ Developer Machine “ option is checked, keep it as it is
and click on “ Next “.
11) Now choose the database usage as “ Multifunctional Database “, click on
Next.
12) Again click on Next.
13) Click on Next again.
14) In this window you have to set the “ Networking options “. The options
“Enable TCP/IP Networking and Enable Strict Mode are already checked.
Click on Next.
15) Click on Next again.
16) Here “ Install As Windows Service “ and “ Launch the MySQL server
automatically “ are already checked. Keep them as it is and click on Next.
17) In this window you have to set the security options. The “ Modify security
Settings “ option is checked by default, now enter the following: -
New root password ---------- root
Confirm: ---------------------- root

Also check the “ Enable root access from remote machines “ option.
18) Now click on Execute. This completes the “ Mysql Database “ installation.
Click on Finish.
Note:
After clicking on “ Execute “, if a window pops up saying “ Connection Error
“, click on “ Skip “ button and also click on “ Cancel “ button. This means that
the server is not configured properly or might be some Connection Error. Please
do not worry.
In this case you to reconfigure the Mysql server. Following are the steps to
reconfigure the MySQL server.
1) Click on Start, click on All Programs.
2) Now go to MySQL  MySQL server 5.0 and click on “ MySQL Server
Instance Config Wizard “.
3) Click on Next.
4) The option “ Reconfigure Instance “ option is selected by default, now
click on Next.
5) Click on Next.
6) Click on Next again.
7) Click on Next again.
8) Click on Next again.
9) Click on Next again.
10) Click on Next again
11) Click on Next again.
12) Click on Next again.
13) Now the “ Modify Security settings “ option, enter the following: -
Current root password  root
New root password  root
Confirm  root
Select “ Enable root access from remote machines “ option, click on Next.
14) Now click on “ Execute “.

15) Finally click on “ Finish “.


Installation Procedure for MySQL Query Browser: -

1) Run the mysql-query-browser-1.1.10-win.exe file.


2) Click on Next.
3) Accept the License agreement, click on Next.
4) Click on Next.
5) Choose Complete as setup type and click on Next.
6) Now click on Install.
7) Finally click on Finish.
Installation Procedure for MySQL Administrator: -

8) Run the mysql-administrator-1.1.9-win.exe file.


9) Click on Next.
10) Accept the License agreement, click on Next.
11) Click on Next.
12) Choose Complete as setup type and click on Next.
13) Now click on Install.
14) Finally click on Finish.
Now after the database is installed you have to restore or dump the database, which
is taken as backup.
Following is the procedure to restore the database.

Importing The File into Database:

1) Go to start--------All Programs-------Mysql-----Mysql Query Browser


2) Specify password and Default Schema as test.
3) Now Right click on right side and select Create a new schema with the name
projectmanage.

4) Go to Start  All Programs  Mysql  Mysql Administrator


Now in the left panel you find Restore link--------------Click on that
In that window you will find Open Backup File button in the footer-------Click on that
Button
5) Pick the database backup file, which you have, taken backup and Click on open
button.
Select projectmanage in target schema.
6) Click on Start Restore button.

This completes the restoring of the database.

Important note:
Please copy the folder “zenportal” to the “ E:\ Drive ” of your system.
This is because all your previous data related to the application is stored in this
folder. This is a must.

Installation Steps For Ejabberd server:

1) Run the Ejabberd installation file.


2) Click on ok.
3) Click on Next
4) Accept the License agreement and click on Next.
5) Keep the Installation directory as it is and click on Next.
6) Specify the server domain as follows and click on Next
KSA_SERVER.SOFT.com
7) Now enter “ Administrator User name “ as “ admin “ and click on Next.
8) Now provide your own password for “ Administrator Password “ and retype
the same and click on Next.
9) Now select cluster as “ No “, click on Next
10) Now click on Next. This installs the Ejabberd server.
11) Finally click on Finish.
