A Mysterious Cry

A long time ago in West Borneo, there was a kingdom ruled by frightening king
named Sambas kingdom. The rumour said the king only had one tooth that filled his entire
gums, that's why he's called King Tan Unggal. He also had two childs, a boy named Bujang Nadi
and a girl named Dare Nandung.

The king's childs grew up to be a very good looking person. It's no wonder,
because both of their parents are very good looking too. They are smart, young, and very
talented on many good things. They also get along with everyone.

One day, Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung was sitting on a park. Dare Nandung
looked at his brother with tons of amaze. She said, "Oh brother dear, I promise would never
married unless with a person like you." Her brother is a little bit shocked and asked nicely, "Why
would you doing that my dear sister? You're very beautiful, if you want, you can marry any boys
you want." Then, Dare Nandung replied, "Because you are my epitome, brother dear." Hearing
the reason made Bujang Nadi happy and said, "Also myself, I promise would never marry
anyone, unless a person like you."

They don't know that some maids are listening to their conversation and
misheard it. The maids thought Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung want to marry each other. In
Sambas, marrying your brother or sister is taboo and unforgivable sin. They afraid someday
Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung will seriously getting married. So to prevent it, they told the king
about theielr promises.

Hearing the report, the king become very angry. He had no idea about what was
his childs think. That's really unbelievable, his beloved childs is trying to commit an unforgivable
sin. After the maids that gave the report go away, he called his adviser to give him some opinion
about a punishment to his childs. But, the king's adviser said, "I had no position to give you
advise, my lord. But, it would be better if you are the one who decide their punishment,
because they are your childrens, my lord."

After thinking for a day, the king has decide Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung
punishment, he directly called the kingdom's guard to burried Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung
alive this night. So, nobody would know his childs trying to commit an unforgivable sin by their
accursed promises and his childs would never do that unforgivable sin.

Knowing the King want to give them a punishment Bujang Nadi and Dare
Nandung was shocked. They never planned to marry each other. Whoever the reporter must
have misheard it. They try to explain to the king about their real promises but the King did not
want to hear their explanation. They keep trying to explain that the maids are just misheard
their promises. But there is no result and they cry helplessly because the king's order are
absolute.

And that night, the king seriously burried his childs alive without any hesitation.
Until now, people always hear a helpless cry every night at Bujang Nadi's and Dare Nandung's
grave. The citizen believe that Bujang Nadi and Dare Nandung is trying to ask a help by crying
every night. But nobody dare enough to help them, because the king is very frightened.
