growth in profitability and cash flow, with almost a doubling of net income in the company’s first half of 2007.
Prysmian reported net sales of 2.6 billion, up 8.3% over 2006’s 2.4 billion and net income of 150 million,
up 97.5% over 2006’s net loss of 28 million.
“The first half 2007 results continue to demonstrate Prysmian’s ability to combine business growth and close
attention to profitability, confirming the effectiveness of its strategy of focusing on high added-value segments
and strengthening its presence in countries with high prospects of growth and profitability,” said Prysmian Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) Valerio Battista. “In line with our strategy, in the last few months we have carried out two

reports, sales and earnings data,

which demonstrate our ability to take advantage of new development opportunities. Based on the excellent

the year, targeting an adjusted EBITDA well in excess of 500 million for the full-year 2007.”
CEO Battista has also stated the company’s interest in expanding in South America, the Middle East and
