NABHASA YOGAS (by Gaura Hari dāsa)

1. Asraya yogas

Rajju yoga

'One born in Rajju Yog will be fond of wandering (1), be charming (2),
will earn in foreign countries (3). He will be cruel (4) and mischievous (5). -
BPHS'

'One born with Rajju Yog will not be industrious (1). He will be poor (2)
and will go with bad people (3). He has a medium span of life (4). - Hora Sara

'Rajju produces envy (1), foreign residence (2) and fondness for traveling
(3). - Brhat Jataka'

'The subject with this Yoga will be fond of wandering (1), attractive in
appearance (2), will earn money in foreign countries (3), be cruel (4) and
mischievously disposed (5). - Saravali'

As BPHS, Saravali has the same views about Rajju. All the Sastras agree
that the person will be a wanderer and can got money in foreign countries. Hora
Sara establish poverty, and also says that this person will go with bad people and
have a medium span of life. Brhat Jataka quotes his envy, and we can see that
this yoga gives some cruelty and mischievous approach.

Musala yoga

'One born in Musala Yog will be endowed with honour (1), wisdom (2),
wealth (3) etc., be dear to king (4), famous (5), will have many sons (6) and be
firm in disposition (7). - BPHS'

'One born in Musala Yog will be energetic (1) blessed with wife, sons and
wealth (2). He will enjoy all kinds of wealth (3), be wise (4) and dear to his own
men. (5) - Hora Sara'

'Musala makes one proud (1), wealthy (2), and capable of doing many
works (3). - Brhat Jataka'

'One born under this Yoga will be endowed with honour (1), wealth (2)
and wisdom (3), be attached to his duty (4), be liked by king (5), be famous (6).
steady-minded (7) and bold (8). - Saravali'

This yoga gives honour, wealth, sons and wife. This is something that all
the Sastras agree. They also says that the person will be wise and proud, dear to
king and liked by him. He will have firm disposition, became famous and capable
of doing many works (Brhat Jataka).

Nala yoga

'One born in Nala Yog will have uneven physique (1), be interested in
accumulating money (2), very skilful (3), helpful to relatives (4) and charming
(5). - BPHS'

'The person, who has Nala Yog will be intelligent (1). He will be disabled
(2) and be with few issues (3). He will be intent upon doing acts beneficial to
others (4); he will be rich (5) and will have a medium span of life (6). - Hora
Sara'

'Nala makes a person limbless (1), determined (2), rich (3) and courageous
(4). - Brhat Jataka'

'One born with Nala Yoga will have uneven physique (i.e. some limbs
long and some short) (1), will gather money (2), be skillful (3), be helpful to his
relatives (4) and be attractive in appearance (5). - Saravali'

BPHS and Saravali indicates uneven physique, while Brhat Jataka and
Hora Sara says that the person will be disabled or limbless. All of them agree
with his interest for gathering of money. Brhat Jataka indicates determination
and courage for this people. BPHS talks about his skillfulness, helpful and
charming nature, which Saravali agrees. Hora Sara indicates few sons and
medium span of life.

2. Sankhya Yogas

Gola yoga

'One born in this Yoga will be indigent (1), indolent (2), devoid of
learning and honour (3), dirty (4) and always grieved (5). - Saravali'

'If all the seven planets are disposed in one sign, they form Gola Yoga.
The person born with this Yoga will be indolent (1), shortlived (2), without
wealth (3), sinful (4) and will associate with low type of persons (5). Such a
person will not be a skillful artisan (6). - Phaladipika'

'One born with Gola Yog will have a short lease of life (1), be not wealthy
(2), be defective in some limb (3) and a killer of his own children (4). He will
have no relations, sons and wife (5). He will be always on the move (6) and be
hungry (7) and banished (8). The results mentioned do not apply to Karm, Labh,
Tanu and Dharm Bhavas. - Hora Sara'

'One born in Gola Yog will be strong (1), be devoid of wealth (2), learning
(3) and intelligence (4), be dirty (5), sorrowful (6) and miserable (7). - BPHS'

'Penniless (1), sinful (2), ignorant (3), skilful in mean arts (4), lazy (5),
traveling (6). - Brhat Jataka'

The views of all Sastras is that Gola yoga makes the person completely
miserly. He will be devoid of wealth, learning, honour, intelligence, will be sinful
and sorrowful, although strong (Parasara's view). Hora Sara shows a criminal
tendency, defects in some limb and says that the person will be always in move
due to banishment. In Phaladipika is said that this one will have association with
low persons and will be shortlived, thing which Hora Sara agree. Hora Sara also
add that in 9, 10, 11 and Lagna this effects will not occur.

Yuga yoga

'One born with this Yoga will be a religious hypocrite (1), be bereft of
wealth (2), forsaken by people (3) and devoid of sons (4), honour (5) and virtues
(6). - Saravali'

'If all the seven planets are posited in two signs only, they give rise to
Yuga Yoga. The person with this Yoga In his birth chart will be heretical (1) and
without wealth (2). - Phaladipika'

'One born with Yuga Yog will be disabled (1), harsh in speech (2) and
shameless (3). He will have many debts (4), be short lived (5) and will have
limited relatives (6). - Hora Sara'

'One born in Yuga Yog will be heretic (1), be devoid of wealth (2), be
discarded by others (3) and be devoid of sons (4), mother (5) and virtues (6). -
BPHS'
'Poor (1), unbeliever (2). - Brhat Jataka'

All the authors agree that the person will be heretical, or a unbeliever in
the words of Varahamihira. They also agree with poverty, debts, and that the
person will be devoid of relatives, honour, virtues and will be discarded by
others. Hora Sara indicates short life for those who born with such yoga.

Soola yoga
'The native with Soola Yoga will be harsh (1), indolent (2), poor (3),
torturous (4), become a prohibited person (5), bold (6), successful in war (7) and
fearful (8). - Saravali'

'When all the planets are disposed in three signs only, the resulting yoga is
known as Shula Yoga. The person with this yoga at birth is wrathful (1), of
violent disposition (2) and poor (3). - Phaladipika'

'The native with Sula Yog will be intelligent (1) and will have many
means of livelihood (2). He will be very sick (3), earn by purchases and sales (4),
will have two wives (5), but no child (6). - Hora Sara'

'One born in Sool Yog will be sharp (1), indolent (2), bereft of wealth (3),
be tortuous (4), prohibited (5), valiant (6) and famous through war (7). - BPHS'

'Courageous (1), having wounds (2), fond of wealth but poor (3). - Brhat
Jataka'

Soola yoga gives harsh disposition, sharp mind, courage. The person will
be devoid of wealth and will turn himself into a prohibited person. The vision of
Hora Sara about this yoga is very interesting as it says that it will give sickness,
two wives but no child, intelligence, many means of livelihood and earnings
through purchases and sales.

Keedara (Kendra) yoga

'One born under this Yoga will be useful to many (1), will have
agricultural profession (2), be truthfully disposed (3), fickle minded (4) and
wealthy (5). - Saravali'

'When all the seven planets are placed in four signs only, they form
Kendra Yoga. The person with this yoga at birth will acquire wealth and
agricultural lands (1). - Phaladipika'

'The native of Kedara Yog will help his relatives (1), earn money through
agriculture (2), be dutiful (3), sluggish (4) and honored (5). - Hora Sara'

'One born in Kedara Yog will be useful to many (1), be an agriculturist


(2), be truthful (3), happy (4), fickle-minded (5) and wealthy (6). - BPHS'

'Agriculturist, helping many. - Brhat Jataka'


Agriculture, lands and wealth is a constant in the Sastras about this yoga.
They also talk about efficiency, a helpful nature and truthfully disposition
(Saravali, BPHS). Hora Sara add sluggish behavior, although also be honored.
Saravali goes very similar do BPHS and includes also a fickle mind.

Paasa yoga

'One born with Pasa Yoga will be bonded (1), be attached to work (2),
worldly in disposition (3), will talk too much (4), will not have good qualities (5)
and will have many servants (6). - Saravali'

'When all the seven Planets are confined to five signs only, they give rise
to Pasha Yoga. The person born with this Yoga indulges in enjoyment of life (1),
is wealthy (2), of good conduct (3) and has relatives (4). - Phaladipika'

'One born in Pasha Yog will be burdened with many expenses (1), be an
expert (2) and dear to all (3). He will be a great intellectual (4), enthusiastic (5)
and be liked in royal circles (6). He will engage in activities relating to his house
(7). - Hora Sara'

'One born in Paash Yog will be liable to be imprisoned (1), be skilful in


work (2), be deceiving in disposition (3), will talk much (4), be bereft of good
qualities (5) and will have many servants (6). - BPHS'

'Possessing relations and servants who are clever in acquiring wealth, and
bad in behaviour. - Brhat Jataka'

BPHS and Saravali goes in similar lines about this yoga. They show the
propensity to be bonded, gossiping, having a worldly disposition, talking too
much and being devoid of good qualities, although with many servants. All the
Sastras agree that the person will have followers, relatives or servants, as well as
that he will be attached to his work and a great expert in his field. Brhat Jataka,
like BPHS and Saravali says about bad behavior, but also add capacity to earn
wealth, which is supported also by Phaladipika. Hora Sara says that the person
will suffer with many expenses.

Phaladikipa and Hora Sara says fine things about this yoga, indicating
good morals, intellectuality, respect of others including royal circles. This shows
the controversial about this kind of Naabhasa which can give good or bad results
depending on the disposition of Grahas in chart which will give materialistic or
spiritualistic approach to life.

Daamini yoga
'One born with this Yoga will be helpful (1), will have cattle (2), be lord of
money (3), be foolish (4), will have many sons (5) and jewels (6), be bold (7) and
learned (8). - Saravali'

'When all the seven planets are in six signs, they form Dharma Yoga. The
person born with this Yoga will be generous (1), a king (2) and benefactor (3). -
Phaladipika'

'A Dama Yog native will be happy (1), kind (2) and devoted to public
welfare (or their work) (3) and a noted scholar (4). He will be wise (5) and rich
(6) and exhibit valour in wars (7). - Hora Sara'

'One born in Daamini Yog will be helpful to others (1), will have
righteously earned wealth (2), be very affluent (3), famous (4), will have many
sons and gems (5), be courageous (6) and red-lettered (7). - BPHS'

'Liberal, philanthropic, protector, many cattle. - Brhat Jataka'

Daamini natives are generous (Phaladipika), benefactors, helpful, will


have sons and followers, will be learned, wise, affluent, will have righteously
earned wealth, be courageous and red-lettered. Hora Sara also indicate valour
in wars, kindness, happiness and that they will be noted scholars.

Veena (Vallaki) yoga

'One born with this combination will have friends (1), be eloquent (2),
interested in Sastras (3), musical instruments and singing (4). He will be happy
(5), will have many servants (6) and be famous (7). - Saravali'

'When the seven planets from Sun to Saturn occupy seven separate signs
the Yoga so arising is known as Vallaki. This is also called Veena Yoga. The
person born in this Yoga is fond of dancing (1), singing and playing on musical
instruments (2) and is wealthy (3). - Phaladipika'

'One born in Veena Yog will be very learned (1) and have various kinds of
wealth, luxuries etc. at his disposal (2). He will be chief among his own men (3),
wise (4) and expert (5). He will love right things (6) and be very enthusiastic (7).
- Hora Sara'

'One born in Veena Yog will be fond of songs (1), dance (2) and musical
instruments (3), be skilful (4), happy (5), wealthy (6) and be a leader of men (7).
- BPHS'

'Intelligent and skilful, clever in dancing and music. - Brhat Jataka'


All the Sastras agree that this people will have interest in music and
dancing. They also indicate intelligence, happiness, knowledge of Sastras, wealth
and luxuries, leadership etc. Saravali add eloquence, Hora Sara a rightfully
disposition and BPHS talks about skillfulness.
