The release features elegant and powerful enhancements and new roles. Specifically:

 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x continues to extend 3DS cloud offerings - already the largest Product
Innovation Platform offering available on the cloud.
o As a reminder:
 3DS cloud portfolio represents the largest cloud offering of the ‘PLM’
industry by far. The cloud portfolio is appropriate for businesses of any size:
it includes a dedicated portfolio of Industry Solution Experiences, with
hundreds of roles on the cloud. The roles cover extensive 3D Modeling (e.g.
design and engineering, 3D design), Content and Simulation (e.g.
manufacturing and production, simulation), Information Intelligence (e.g.
data intelligence, search, etc.), and Social and Collaboration applications
(e.g. governance and lifecycle). In other words, virtually the whole portfolio
of the #1 PLM provider in the on-premise market (per CIMdata) is available
on the cloud today, on the single, unified architecture of the 3DEXPERIENCE
Platform.
 The 3DEXPERIENCE on the cloud offerings bring the benefits of Software-as-
a-Service (SaaS) and cloud to all customers. A one-stop shop approach with
Dassault Systèmes as single point of contact whatever the deployment
mode, ensures that each cloud offer is deployed fast and turnkey, and
includes the associated optimized cloud provisioning and support.
o Release 2018x takes the number of roles available on the cloud, as well as
enhancements in their capabilities, to new heights. For instance, with R2018x, the

3
cloud offering includes more than 95% of 3DS exhaustive design and engineering
portfolio. In other words 95+% of the most advanced and comprehensive design &
engineering portfolio on the market today, is available on the cloud.
o As the number of customers on the cloud fast increases, R2018x takes a big step
forward to best match customers’ needs on the cloud
 With content configuration, customers can easily tailor the objects of
processes according to their own specific business needs, without losing the
seamless updates that a cloud environment offers.
 They can now leverage simplified change processes.
 A new cloud service enables data replication in the region closest to the user
location for optimum performance.
 And multi-systems integration for the cloud to enhance further value chain
collaboration, and downstream processes (e.g. publish to ERP).

 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x brings native Marketing Content Creation and Marketing

Experience roles from 3DEXCITE on the Platform: users can now benefit from 3 roles, and 3

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

role extensions, both on premise and on the cloud.
o 3DEXCITE completes the holistic approach the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform takes from
concept-to-consumer. Now you can thrill customers with compelling, and
personalized marketing experiences , including VR explorations, at every touch point
along their purchasing journey.
o Marketing professionals can optimize their content creation process, to create and
contextualize end-consumer experiences, and package them for distribution and
play. These end-consumers experiences can be interactive 3D visualizers and VR
explorations, or 2D high resolution CG images.

 The release also brings native Supply Chain Planning and Optimization roles from Quintiq
on the platform:
o Four new roles roles are focused on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), the critical
business process that brings together Sales, Finance, Production, Marketing and
other key departments to balance demand and supply in the supply chain on an 18-
month. S&P is a critical forward-looking decision making process, which then
triggers and feeds the rest of the supply chain management processes such as
supply chain planning and production planning. The four new roles are: Supply Chain
Director, Demand Planner, Collaborative Forecasting, and Supply Planner.

 Function-driven generative design and additive manufacturing are significantly extended

o The marriage of design and simulation on one platform allows each to go much
further than is possible on its own. The enhanced Function Generative Designer role
allows to generate conceptual assemblies: the designer simply provides the
functional specification (including the 3D envelope, the loading scenario, materials,
weight reduction targets, desired manufacturing process), and a push of the button
runs a simulation and generates the optimized concept shape. This truly unique
capability allows designers and engineers to take advantage of the flexibility of
additive manufacturing, or of more traditional manufacturing processes such as
milling, casting and forging.
o As part of the complete end-to-end Dassault Systèmes solution for digital Additive
Manufacturing, 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x provides the new Additive Manufacturing
Researcher role which delivers a physically realistic thermo-mechanical simulation of

4
the part as material is built up during the 3D printing process, and as that material
cools down when the print head moves on elsewhere.

 The release opens the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to:

o Users of SIMULIA’s ‘Abaqus for Structures’ to share and collaborate, and to take
advantage of burst computing. The Platform brings out-of-the-box capabilities to
capture & publish best-practices, share & collaborate on results & methods, and
integrate fully with non-experts. One value to the existing user is that the data,
methods and results of simulations – including his own - are more easily
accessible & visible (and hence more valuable) throughout the enterprise with
no disruption to existing methods and tools.
o Simulation users of SolidWorks Desktop for advanced simulation needs in an
intuitive and tailored interface. Tight associativity with SolidWorks Desktop
means that Simulation, in 3DEXPERIENCE, and CAD, in SolidWorks Desktop,
always remain synchronized even after design changes, and what-if scenarios
can be performed easily during the design process. As a core value of the
3DEXPERIENCE platform, simulation processes conducted in Simulation Engineer

can be captured, managed, and re-used allowing them to become true
corporate assets.

 New 3DEXPERIENCE Twins in various industries and domains see the light
o The well-known Living Heart model is now available on the Cloud
o Virtual additive manufacturing machine incl. correct geometry, proprietary
scan path algorithms
o The 3DEXPERIENCity Twin includes the GIS context

 Noteworthy, R2018x sees the launch of an extended and enriched industry-focused

3DEXPERIENCE CATIA solution for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) which
addresses all participants in the end-to-end building process with industry-tailored functions
and templates, and powerful automation. Roles address conceptual or detailed-oriented
Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, General Contractors, and Construction
Model Managers.

 Finally, Dassault Systèmes is rapidly expanding its portfolio of Computational Fluid

Dynamics (CFD) offerings. There are three parts to the CFD portfolio currently offered by
Dassault Systèmes:
o Mainstream CFD simulation, for native steady-state and mildly transient flows. The
release brings numerous enhancements. For instance, the solution now addresses
high Mach number flows in subsonic, transonic and supersonic regimes with our
new compressible flow solver.
o CFD simulation for highly complex transient flows in the XFlow product suite, and
o Industry-specific CFD simulation in the Exa product suite for the Transportation &
Mobility, Aerospace & Defense, and Natural Resources industries.

5
3D Modeling Apps’ Select Enhancements

 With 3DEXPERIENCE Release 2018x (R2018x), users can benefit from many new and
enhanced DESIGN/ENGINEERING roles: there are 85 roles on premise, 80 roles on cloud as a
whole in R2018x. Overall, 13 New Roles, and over 600 new or enhanced functions have
been added.
 CATIA brings the new Stamping Die Designer role, which increases productivity by guiding
users from the conceptual planning through to detailed tooling design of complex stamped
sheet metal parts. Easy to use specialist features and wizards guide the user in best
practices, helping the tool designer work with and extend complex surfaces without
having to be a surfacing expert. The role has a discipline-specific set of functions for the
optimization of stamping direction, creation of addenda surfaces, trim lines and spring-back
compensation, all with full associativity to the original part geometry. This ensures high
quality die geometry and right-first –time tooling.

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

 R2018x sees the launch of an extended and enriched industry-focused 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA
solution for AEC which addresses all participants in the end-to-end building process. It
brings new roles tailored specifically to the needs of conceptual or detailed-oriented
Architects, Structural Engineers and MEP Engineers. Industry-tailored functions and
templates allow them to quickly and simply reach their required Level of Detail (LOD).
Powerful automation accelerates the design process by eliminating repetitive tasks. For
example, through an intuitive user interface, an entire facade of ‘unitized curtain’ wall
panels can be automatically generated on the design surface of a conceptual building model,
by applying a predefined knowledge-based reusable parametric template of the panel. As
the LOD matures, full digital continuity is maintained across the lifecycle of the building.
In addition, a new role has been created for General Contractors and Construction Model
Managers. With this new role, construction projects will be better managed by integrating
large models from multiple stakeholders to easily coordinate various building trades. By
being able to zoom, review and analyze different parts of the project, check for geometric
clashes or model simple shapes, this new role will put the 3D model at the center of
construction projects.
 In CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, the unique Function Driven Generative Designer (GDE) role
has been enhanced to allow non-specialist designers to automatically generate optimized
conceptual assemblies from functional specifications. The designer simply provides a
set of requirements, including the 3D envelope, connections, the loading scenario,
material, weight reduction targets for lightweight engineering, and the desired
manufacturing process, either traditional, such as milling, casting or forging, or additive
manufacturing. The push of a button runs a simulation and generates the optimized concept
assembly shapes. The designer can quickly create multiple variants for comparison and
trade-off studies by varying the inputs, such as different weight reduction targets, load
cases, constraints etc. So doing:
o This unique capability allows the creation of shapes which could not be imagined
using a conventional design approach, while respecting the designer’s specification
and dramatically reducing weight.

6
o This results in fully-usable high-quality real surface geometry, within your
engineering and manufacturing CAD environment. The geometry can be directly
refined and shared on the 3DExperience Platform by all disciplines, from detailed
design through analysis and manufacturing. For instance, the product can then be
comprehensively validated using full loading conditions such as frequency and
buckling.
This release also introduces design features dedicated to specific manufacturing processes,
such as overhang constraints for 3dprinted parts and a reconstruction wizard for milled
parts.
 R2018x delivers multiple advances in Cyber Systems Engineering, the multi-disciplinary
design methodology which integrates RFLP product definitions. These are extending
an already unique solution which delivers digital continuity to design, validate and
experience mechanical, electronic and software systems, and fully integrates with other
existing systems.
o The new Electrical and Electronic Architect role allows web-based definition,

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

development & management of embedded electronics and software across a
complete vehicle and its variants, including communications networks. Now Vehicle
Hardware Architects, Functional and Software Architects and Network Architects
can work and collaborate in the context of a shared complete vehicle architecture
on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, removing design errors and misunderstandings. This
single view means that fully accurate reports can be generated and shared across
the supply chain, ensuring consistency.

 In 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, GEOVIA is introducing and enhancing Virtual Planet roles to

model and simulate the city, and provide digital continuity between the surface and the sub-
surface. Users can now benefit from three 3DEXPERIENCE native roles on the cloud, 1 of
them being also on premise. In addition the release opens the power of social services of the
3DEXPERIENCE Platform (3DDrive, 3DPlay, 3DSwym, etc.) to users of the standalone mining
portfolio.
 The release brings ‘Converter for Surpac’, a new role that provides digital continuity
between the surface and the subsurface. It enables the seamless sharing of geological
and geotechnical data between both our desktop Surpac product or our new
Geological Modeling app, and CATIA Civil Engineering. All geological data authored in
the GEOVIA SDM format (e.g. rock type, rock mass rating) can be converted into the
3DEXPERIENCE product data model for use in downstream civil engineering. The new
Converter for Surpac role is available both on cloud and on premise.
 Using the City Referential Manager (CRM) and City Contributor (CCN) roles, city
stakeholders across government, municipality, the utility ecosystem and city inhabitants
can create, consume and contribute to the digital experience twin of the city. In R2018x,
3DEXPERIENCity users using CRM and CCN can now upload GIS data for use in the city
referential. This gives users the ability to import multiple GIS data files in one task, or drag &
drop them to the city referential canvas. These two roles have also been enhanced to allow
the user to enrich the city experience with business data such as building occupancy
information, land use type, and parking space capacity to name a few examples.

7
 With 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, users can benefit from enhanced BIODESIGN roles in the
BIOVIA portfolio. The release now features 4 roles as well as adding cloud capabilities for
one of those roles.
 The existing Scientific Decision Maker role (BDV) brings to R&D scientists involved in a
“discovery” process (whether it is for a new drug compound, or a new material) a
Discovery Cockpit, i.e. a full collaborative decision making environment to select and
investigate those drugs/materials:
o First, they can define the desired “Target Product Profile”, which could specify,
for instance, the ability to bind to a specific target and not to other similar
targets.
o Then they can specify the “Discovery Decision Path”, that is, the specific
experiments to be run, and the thresholds (i.e. the decision criteria) to be reached
by the drug candidates to be eligible, or promoted to the next R&D
phase/experiment.
o As each drug goes through the experiments defined in the “Discovery Decision

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

Path”, the experimental results are collected into “Result Packages” that are
managed within the Discovery Cockpit. For instance, scientists can annotate, qualify,
validate Result packages collaboratively, based on the decision criteria of the
“Discovery Decision Path”. At each step, scientists benefit from widgets displaying
key indicators on the quality/quantity of scientific results. All the views provided by
the BIOVIA Discovery Cockpit allow the scientist to decide collaboratively about the
advancement stage of each drug candidate.
Enhancements to the Scientific Decision Maker role in 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x offer greater
scientific collaboration taking into account larger data sets of information, as well as the
lifecycle of a target profile, including maturity change and lifecycle for scientific project and
stages.
 The existing Therapeutics Efficacy Modeler role (BLG) is a complete suite for R&D biologists
to study biological pathways. They can design pathways according to evidence-based
biological hypotheses for disease mechanisms and drug mechanisms of action. Users
can import pathways in standard formats, create their own pathway or modify an
existing one. They can add substances, interactions and define or generate dynamic
behaviors. Most importantly, they can also simulate those pathways with virtual
experiments. 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x offers cloud capability for the Therapeutics Efficacy
Modeler role. Many other enhancements allow users to perform validation and annotation
of pathway models, which are important as biologists work collaboratively to understand
diseases.
 The existing Therapeutics Safety Modeler role (BTL) targets two usages: the immunogenicity
assessment of candidate drug biomolecules, and their optimization by reducing risk. The
immunogenicity assessment is based on modeling the humoral response elicited by the
immune system (presentation of peptide fragments by the human leukocyte antigen
(HLA) proteins). In 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, the role was further enhanced in terms of
performance, user experience, and to better leverage 3DEXPERIENCE Platform capabilities.
All results can be exported, shared in the 3DSwym application, and visualized in the 3DPlay
application.

8
 The existing Clinical Outcome Modeler role (BPH) enables the prediction of drug efficacy and
safety at the population level, and the design of more informative clinical trials through
pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics simulations. The user experience has been designed
to be extremely intuitive and to democratize such modeling approaches and simulations
as a result. The role is aimed at pharmacometricians and clinicians to build and share
graphical drug-disease models, build populations and samples of patients to simulate
the effect of the drug on specifics populations, test several administration protocols to find
the best clinical trial design. They can then perform clinical trials simulations to assess the
response of populations to new drugs. Again, the role has been designed to ease project
reviews e.g. through the ability to compare several simulation results across patients or
administration protocols, and to navigate through results graphically. 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x
brings enhancements to the Clinical Outcome Modeler role that improve clinical trial
simulations by taking into account covariance. Essentially, there is a covariance between
parameters of the models between different patients that are taken into account. This is
important to develop the better clinical trial simulations that researchers seek. The role was

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

also enhanced in term of user experience, allowing the user to even more easily navigate
through simulation results and models.
 To sum, 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x for BIOVIA continues to improve on aiding decision-makers,
scientists and modelers. Decision makers gain with enhanced collaboration, larger data
sets and scientific lifecycle capabilities. Scientists will benefit with new and improved
roles for managing and navigating the scientific data lakes lifecycle in the platform by
building, updating and monitoring scientific content and biological interactive knowledge.
And modelers will benefit with the first BIOVIA solution on the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud for
Biosystems modeling and simulation.

Content and Simulation Apps’ Select Enhancements

 In 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, users can benefit from many powerful SIMULATION roles: there
are now 27 roles on premise, and 22 roles on public cloud. The release now features 48
SIMULIA applications, including 9 new apps. The portfolio connects standalone products to
the platform, delivers an end-to-end capability for Additive Manufacturing, demonstrates
commitment to fluid simulation, and improves the well-known Living Heart capability.
 The release opens the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to users of SIMULIA ‘standalone’
products including Abaqus for structures, and – at R2018x Functional Delivery 01- to
users of XFlow for fluids, Simpack for multibody simulation, and CST for
electromagnetics.
SIMULIA customers today have large investments in standalone simulation software tools,
including software costs, end-user training, existing data files, and simulation methods &
scripts. These tools are used by simulation experts who are focused on generating
simulation results, and do not include out of the box capabilities for enabling much needed
collaboration & sharing, and simulation management.
3DEXPERIENCE R2018x changes all that.

9
It brings out-of-the-box capabilities to capture & publish best-practices, share & collaborate
on results & methods, and integrate fully with non-experts. Files and data from these tools
can be brought onto the platform to be managed, tagged, cataloged, preserved, and shared.
One value to the existing user is that the data, methods and results of simulations –
including his own - are more easily accessible & visible (and hence more valuable)
throughout the work-group and the enterprise with no disruption to existing methods and
tools. In addition, simulation jobs created within these tools can be launched by the
platform compute orchestration framework (which manages where the simulation is run,
how it is run, and how much it costs), including new access to On Cloud burst compute
licensing for Abaqus/Standard.
An overall value to the enterprise is simulation activities become visible and available to
everyone to improve decision making through improved understanding of product
performance and bring clarity on how to deliver the right products to market in the shortest
time.
 As part of the complete end-to-end Dassault Systèmes solution for digital Additive

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

Manufacturing, 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x provides the new Additive Manufacturing Researcher
(AMA) role. The Additive Manufacturing Researcher role delivers a physically realistic
thermo-mechanical simulation of the part as material is built up during the 3D
printing process, and as that material cools down when the print head moves on
elsewhere. For example, printed parts warp when they are printed, and part distortion is
predicted and can be accounted for. Support structures (both their addition and removal)
are easily included. Material behavior – varying with print parameters (thickness of layer,
print path and speed) – is simulated. The role represents a virtual environment to assess and
optimize the 3Dprinting process and ensure that parts can be property manufactured the
first time. With native integration to Functional Generative Design (GDE) and Additive
Manufacturing Programmer (AMP) roles, the Additive Manufacturing Researcher role fast-
tracks designs into production through digital continuity from design to process to
manufacture, unlocks the true power of additive manufacturing by increasing accuracy and
output, and helps ensure use of best-practices to maximize ROI on Additive Manufacturing
investments.
 The release includes the new Simulation Engineer (DRDW-OC) role, bringing the power of
the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to simulation users of SolidWorks Desktop users for
advanced simulation needs within an intuitive and tailored user interface on the
cloud. Tight associativity with SolidWorks Desktop means that Simulation, in 3DEXPERIENCE,
and CAD, in SolidWorks Desktop, always remain synchronized even after design changes,
e.g. the simulation parameters such as loads and restraints will be automatically updated to
reflect geometry changes. Associativity also enables design engineers to perform easily
what-if scenarios during the design process. A natural next-step up from SolidWorks Desktop
Simulation, Simulation Engineer allows to re-use and add to Solidworks Desktop simulation,
and it includes advanced meshing with quad and brick elements, comprehensive material
models, and an easy-to-set-up robust component contact formulation. Large models are
handled with ease, including creation, simulation, and results processing. As a core value of
the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, simulation processes conducted in Simulation Engineer can be
captured, managed, and re-used allowing them to become true corporate assets.

10
 A complete set of Multiphysics solution capabilities are required in order to power complete
end-to-end industry solutions with simulation. Dassault Systèmes is rapidly expanding its
portfolio of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) offerings.
There are three parts to the CFD portfolio currently offered by Dassault Systèmes:
o Mainstream CFD simulation, for native steady-state and mildly transient flows
o CFD simulation for highly complex transient flows in the XFlow product suite, and
o Industry-specific CFD simulation in the Exa product suite for the Transportation &
Mobility, Aerospace & Defense, and Natural Resources industries.
This release brings numerous enhancements to mainstream CFD simulation. We can now
address high Mach number flows in subsonic, transonic and supersonic regimes with our
new compressible flow solver. We have added moving reference frames (MRF) capability to
model rotating domains including flow around fans and propellers. Our new Volume of Fluid
(VOF) based solver enables users to model free surface flows involving interaction between
two different phases e.g. flooding scenario with water and air. The user experience also
features more guided assistance e.g. the new assistant panel in Fluid Mechanics Analyst role

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

guides users through a streamlined simulation setup process with automated transitions
between model, scenario and result environments. Some of the other key enhancements
include periodicity, wall roughness, mass flow inlets, mass flow split and stagnation inlet
boundary condition.
Also, the XFlow product suite is available in connected mode at R2018x Functional Delivery
01. XFlow brings a mesh-free particle-based solver for transient flow in a tailored easy-to-
use environment. Connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, XFlow users will be able
capture & publish best-practices, share & collaborate on results & methods, and integrate
fully with non-experts. Files and data can be brought onto the platform to be tagged,
cataloged, secured, and shared. One value to the existing user is that the data, methods and
results of simulations – including his own - are more easily accessible & visible (and hence
more valuable) throughout the work-group and the enterprise with no disruption to existing
methods and tools.
[XFlow became available in December 2016 as part of the Next Limit Dynamics acquisition,
and Exa Corporation was acquired November 2017.]
 The well-known Living Heart Project from Dassault Systèmes has transformed simulation in
the cardiovascular community by building a truly functional virtual model of the
heart for medical research, diagnostics, and device development purposes. In
3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, the Living Heart Human Model role includes the 2.0 version
of the Living Heart, which is now available also on the cloud, and with considerable
enhancements to the heart model based on input from nearly 100 Life Science organizations
worldwide. Enhancements include coronary arteries, all four valves, and detailed electrical
networks, providing more physiologically accurate response. This role enables clinical
researchers and medical device analysts to not only virtually test the effectiveness and
durability of their devices (such as Valves, stents, pacemakers) inside the Living Heart model,
but also to collaborate and share workflow tasks and methods with colleagues and partners
worldwide.

11
 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x includes many advances in MANUFACTURING & PRODUCTION:
users can benefit from 3 new roles plus many enhancements to manufacturing & production
roles from DELMIA both on premise and on the cloud.
 Release 2018x further enhances the digital continuity from Design Engineering to
Manufacturing and Production. New in the release, the manufacturing bill of material
(MBOM) can be defined, managed, and updated directly from the 3D design, thereby
exploiting both the engineering and the manufacturing contexts. The new
Manufactured Items Manager role (MFN) is a web app that uses the product structure /
EBOM - with its 3D and positioning data - as input to the MBOM and makes the authoring
process intuitive and easy. For instance, users can cross-highlight between product
structure, MBOM, and 3D. Also, users can simply drag and drop the design data to create the
MBOM from scratch, or create it from the existing product structure, or from a previously-
created ‘MBOM-creation template’. These user defined templates encapsulate
manufacturing knowledge and know how, save time, and reduce re-work as the user applies
them across their different situations (e.g. different BOMs, processes, locations, etc.). The

3DS.COM © Dassault Systèmes | Confidential Information | 5/23/14 | ref.: 3DS_Document_2014

link to 3D and design data, also allows to better understand change management between
EBOM and MBOM. True to the Platform, other DELMIA tools such as Process Planner (PPL),
Process Plans Analyst (PPV), as well as all of the various DELMIA simulation tools for
Ergonomics, Robotics, and Fabrication can leverage the MBOM to provide streamlined
collaboration around the MBOM , and optimized digital manufacturing & production.
 In R2018x, DELMIA brings an operational management solution with 2 new roles which allow
to better author, share and collaborate on production plan & execution, production
performance, and lean initiatives on the shop floor.
o 3DLean Master enables the shop floor Team Leader to easily and efficiently organize
each days’ production plan and communicate it, e.g. in standup meetings. The
widget-based tool makes it simple for the Team Leader to assign a Team Member
to a work station or a task, and assemble all relevant KPIs coming from MESs.
Goals of the day for the team in terms of activities and performance for lean
initiatives, safety, quality, cost, delivery can also be communicated . Team leaders
can easily create “Sticky Notes” and make sketches and annotations. Importantly,
production issues can be assigned to a team or an individual, and the issue can be
tracked to resolution.
o Once completed, the daily plan is shared with the team using 3DLean Member
(PTW). Team members can view issues and activities assigned to them or the team,
and follow them through to completion. Importantly, 3DLean Member helps
animate efficient production meetings and fosters better collaboration between
Production Operators, Engineering, and supervisors. For instance, using large touch
screens on the plant floor, Production Operators can visualize performance metrics
and easily interact with stakeholders and decision makers by making annotations,
attaching “sticky notes”, and drawing sketches.
Lean Daily Management relies in part on Visual Controls (e.g. to compare expected vs. actual
performance of the process), Visual Walls (a designated location to easily view the work of
the organization), and Daily accountability (e.g. via Daily Huddles focusing on process status,
identification of challenges), which are all enabled by 3DLean roles. Such practices can be
leveraged by any team which needs to interact and federate on a daily work schedule

12
 DELMIA brings Virtual and Reality (V + R) closer together by enhancing its digital
environment for engineering the additive process. Using DELMIA Shop Floor
Equipment Engineer (EQE), Machine Vendors can create a 3DEXPERIENCE twin of
their additive machine. The DELMIA ‘Virtual Additive Machine’ is built with the correct
geometry, programming attributes, and the proprietary scan path algorithms from the
machine vendor for each material of use. The Virtual Additive Machine can then be used
in DELMIA Additive Manufacturing Programmer (AMP) to examine in 3D how the machine
behaves under the input machine-specific parameters e.g. how the machine will process the
laser path for any given part or material, so as to fine tune the additive manufacturing
process at hand. This gives the user the capability to develop an additive strategy to be used
in production that is based on the actual machine. Once the additive strategy has been
engineered, the user can output the machine-specific file format containing all parameters
and definition for the process, to the actual machine. The Virtual Additive Machine
dramatically improves the first time quality and accelerates time to market by leveraging the

machine-specific capabilities and reducing the number of iterations for the additive process
prove-out.

Information Intelligence Apps’ Select Enhancements

 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x delivers enhanced BUSINESS ANALYTICS functionalities and 2 new

roles, leveraging the EXALEAD capabilities directly into the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform:
 In the area of Sourcing and Standardization Intelligence, the role portfolio has been
significantly enhanced, leveraging user and customer feedbacks from large deployments
over the world.
o The enhanced Preferred Part Consumer (S1X) role allows any user to quickly find
and decide on the right part for their need, by searching and comparing a huge
number of parts from inside or outside the enterprise, including in the
3DEXPERIENCE Platform. As a result, it enables and promotes part reuse, and part
standardization. In R2018x, the 'similar search' functionality, which searches parts
with similar shapes, has been enhanced with a new signature algorithm, and an
enhanced user experience with a more intuitive graph navigation of parts with
similar shapes. Also, company's preferred parts are now better highlighted in the
results search.
o The 2018x release of the Standard Part Analyst (X1R) role allows standardization
managers (from procurement, sourcing, engineering or else) to discover and
categorize similar parts, using automatic 'machine learning' based classification
capabilities, compare parts on engineering and sourcing/business criteria, and select
preferred parts. As such, it unlocks massive cost savings for industrial companies.
 The 3DEXPERIENCE offers PLM Analytics to reveal, measure, and analyze actual PLM data to
deeply understand and improve product innovation processes with actionable insights thanks
to advanced project / issue / change / or quality intelligence. For instance, one can see
at once how product defect occurrences per severity evolve over time, or get an analysis
of which manufacturing processes are most impacted by ECO/ECR/ECA. PLM Analytics

13
leverages 3DS' data intelligence capabilities in analysis of complex product structures and
data models, aided by strong semantics, machine learning, and 3D visualization. It extends
the promise and collaborative power of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, by giving everybody

now 60 roles, 20 of which are industry specific. Six new on-premise roles are available at GA
for ENOVIA R2018x, and 7 new roles are available on-cloud.
 As the number of ENOVIA customers on the cloud fast increases, R2018x takes a big step
forward in the use of project management, requirements and changes. Content
configuration capabilities on the cloud enable customers to easily tailor the objects of
those processes according to their own specific business needs, without losing the seamless
updates that a cloud environment offers. For instance, the 3D Space Control Center enables
parametrization for objects such as project, task, project space, milestones, etc. Customers
on the cloud also want to leverage simplified change processes. With R2018x, change
management has been streamlined to enable teams to both plan and execute a change via a
Change Action, without the need for a prior, more formal, Change Order. Noteworthy, a new
cloud service, enables data replication in the region closest to the user location for optimum
performance. Finally, the release introduces multi-systems integration for the cloud to
enhance further value chain collaboration, and downstream processes (publish to ERP).
These enhancements allow customers to gain the benefits of 3DEXPERIENCE on the cloud
easier than ever before.
 The way in which 3DEXPERIENCE users organize and manage their activities is changing,
driving increased unstructured innovation at the team or individual level, in concert with
project managers who ensure on-time and on-target delivery through structured
cross-functional projects. In R2018x, both modes of governance are enhanced.
ENOVIA has enhanced individual users’ task management, making available a snapshot of
how far along they are on their tasks, so they can best organize and prioritize their work for
the day, saving time and increasing productivity. Also, collaboration and information
exchange with others is improved by leveraging 3Dcomments and 3Dnotifications.
Meanwhile, structure projects’ productivity is improved with managers taking advantage of
a modern web-based Gantt experience including point and click creation of predecessor and
successor relationships, duration changes, and swift navigation even on very large scale
projects.
 For R2018x, ENOVIA introduces a set of roles that illustrate the ability of the 3DEXPERIENCE
to serve a diverse set of customers and industries. Services-based development teams can

15

 In 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, 3DEXCITE is introducing Marketing Content Creation and

Marketing Experience roles: users can now benefit from 3 roles, and 3 role extensions, both
on premise and on the cloud.
 3DEXCITE completes the holistic approach the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform takes from concept-
to-consumer. In the experience economy, great products are no longer enough and clients
expect to be thrilled with compelling, memorable and personalized marketing experiences at
every touch point, along their purchasing journey. Over the last ten years, the number of
available devices, channels and marketing platforms has grown exponentially. This new

communication landscape requires brands to communicate quicker, with continuity and
with premium, customizable content.
3DEXCITE provides game-changing solutions for Marketing professionals to optimize their
content creation process, to create and contextualize end-consumer experiences, and
package them for distribution and play. These end-consumers experiences can be interactive
3D visualizers and VR explorations, or 2D high resolution CG images.
Today´s business challenges in marketing are caused by fragmentation and disconnection of
data on the content creation side, and the need to break through competing chatter to
reach the consumer in a consistent fashion on the marketing experiences delivery side.
 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x introduces the Marketing Content Artist role (XCA). Based on the
marketing plan and creative guidelines, Marketing Content Artists will define & create
digital assets for marketing experiences. All the required elements of future marketing
experiences can be imported, validated, and produced. The elements of such marketing
experiences are 2D or 3D environments and their ambiences, characters and animations,
and materials, and are always in synch with the 3D model from engineering/design. This way
marketing content creation is based on a Master Model. Based on device and data size
requirements of the desired end-experience, a data preparation operation, involving
cleaning and simplification, can be applied to the CAD product with the Marketing Model
Processor option. Also, rich meta-data and tagging adds intelligence to objects, and allows to
better manage and automate configurations and variants of the marketing experiences. The
libraries of approved assets, tailored for every campaign scenario, are available globally to
ensure campaign accuracy. The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform connects all stakeholders, including
visualization experts and technical artists from product manufacturing companies,
interactive/digital agencies, and ‘MarTech’ companies, in the content creation process.
Through this, it enables an implementation of an efficient production pipeline.
 With the Marketing Experience Artist (XAR) new role, users can create interactive, real-
time content for consistent marketing experiences by artistically composing rich assets
from libraries provided by the Marketing Content Artist. All aspects of a 3D experience
are defined by the Marketing Experience Artist and its role extensions Marketing Content
Animator, Marketing Experience Scripter, and Marketing Media Producer. These include:

16
look & feel, interactions and animations leveraging body physics, VR scripting and
optimization of runtime performance, and overall behaviors. Pre-set filters streamline the
workflow by optimizing content for the right marketing channels (e.g. online or on premise),
via selection of model structure, geometry, material, textures, lighting and ambience. High
resolution media can be produced and the marketing experience packaged for distribution.

 3DEXPERIENCE Release 2018x introduces new roles for supply chain planning and
optimization from Quintiq. The first 4 new roles are focused on Sales & Operations Planning
(S&OP) and available on the cloud: Supply Chain Director, Demand Planner, Collaborative
Forecasting, and Supply Planner. S&OP is a forward-looking decision-making process,
which aims to balance demand and supply in the supply chain on an 18-month
horizon. Companies with more mature S&OP processes also integrate financial planning with
operational planning and link high-level strategic plans to their day-to-day operations. Cross-
functional in nature, this business process brings together Sales, Finance, Production,
Marketing and other key departments, and is typically carried out on a monthly cadence.

The maturity of the S&OP process may differ per industry and company. Quintiq S&OP
supports all maturity levels.
 Quintiq S&OP’s first role, Supply Chain Director, gives users the ability to architect and lead
the S&OP cycle. The Supply Chain Director invites users from key departments in the
company (e.g. Sales, Finance, Production, Marketing, etc.), connects them in a single
workflow on the platform, and leads them through the five S&OP stages:
1. Users start with a business strategy review, new product introductions review, and
gathering of S&OP data (e.g. historical sales performance, planned production
capacity, inventory levels, financial costs, sourcing options, etc.) from each key
department.
2. Users draw from the data to forecast sales demand.
3. They create a supply plan.
4. At a pre-S&OP meeting, they analyze the financial impact of demand and supply
decisions such as what to produce, procure, transport and store as well as where,
when and at what cost. An interactive planning dashboard allows users to customize
views of the S&OP plan according to their needs – from high-level overviews to
detailed scenario plans in sales, marketing, finance and operations.
5. Users produce a consensus S&OP plan aimed at meeting business goals such as
customer demand fulfillment, revenue target and cost optimization. The plan is
presented at a closing S&OP executive meeting and used as input for the next
monthly cycle.
A workflow dashboard allows the Supply Chain Director and users in each key department to
see which tasks are open or planned for them in the current cycle as well as the status of
dependencies in other departments. They can interact with one another in the workflow via
the dashboard (e.g. assign tasks to others, ask/answer questions, send reminders, etc.). An
overall status view is available so users can see which stage they are at, collectively as a
team, in the monthly S&OP cycle. This includes estimated completion dates.
 Quintiq’s Demand Planner role and Collaborative Forecasting role work together to produce
an accurate, consensus demand forecast in the second stage of the S&OP cycle.

17
o The Demand Planner has a holistic view of all data relevant to forecasting future
demand e.g. historical sales, sales opportunities, and planned promotions. Data is
multi-dimensional and users can organize them into the specific hierarchies that
best match the needs of their respective departments. (e.g. product hierarchy, sales
hierarchy, geographical hierarchy, etc.). For example, for a given product family (i.e.
a specific node in the product hierarchy), a given sales organization (in the sales
hierarchy) and a given territory (say a country in a the geographical hierarchy), there
will a historical sales number, sales opportunities and planned promotions in time,
from which the sales forecast at the intersection of these hierarchies will be defined.
Various properties such as characteristics of a product family or annual revenue of a
customer segment can also be defined and added to each hierarchy. Once this is
done, users can slice and dice the data in real time to present it from various points
of view – from marketing to sales to finance. They can also view and edit the data on
different time granularities (from daily to yearly horizons) and different levels within
the data hierarchy (from SKU level to product group level). Using statistical

forecasting, they then generate a baseline forecast. The Demand Planner can now
begin making adjustments factoring his own unique understanding of the market.
o The resulting forecast then follows the reconciliation workflow with all relevant
stakeholders as defined by the Supply Chain Director. Those stakeholders can be
internal (e.g. sales executives, operations managers) or external (e.g. customers,
third-party research firms) and use Collaborative Forecasting to edit and enrich the
forecast data within their assigned scope. For each intersection of data hierarchies,
Quintiq typically maintains 200-400 numbers including accuracy of previous
forecasts, market shares, cleansed actuals, etc, in order to converge to one single
forecast number.
This final demand forecast created in this second stage of the S&OP cycle will inform the
creation of a supply plan in the next stage.
 In the third stage of the S&OP cycle, the Supply Planner models the full supply chain, from
suppliers to customers, incorporating all unique management rules, financial constraints &
goals, and definitions such as distribution network, capacities, BOMs (bill of materials),
and financials.
o Users can apply Quintiq S&OP’s world record-breaking optimizer to the model of the
supply chain in order to produce a supply plan - including sourcing, manufacturing
and logistics -, which meets the business goals (financials, service levels, inventory
levels, etc.).
o Through an interactive dashboard, users can view and fine-tune every aspect of the
supply plan, from capacity usage and inventory levels to financial costs and demand
fulfillment.
o Users can also use Quintiq S&OP’s optimizer to simulate multiple what-if scenarios
which evaluate the impact of various opportunities and risks to the supply plan. The
optimizer then recommends the scenario that best meets a variety of business KPIs
(e.g. margins, delivery performance, customer service levels, inventory levels, etc.).
o With this recommended scenario, users then create the final supply plan. This
supply plan serves as input for the closing S&OP executive meeting as well as the
starting point for the next monthly S&OP cycle.
