The air data system architecture comprises three inde-

pendent subsystems :

• The pilot’s system : used only for PSU 2 system • The emergency system : connected only to the
equipment (10) stand-by altimeter (7) and airspeed indicator (8), which
are provided to replace the altitude and airspeed dis-
• The copilot’s system : used for PSU 1 system equip- plays in the event of an IFDS failure.
ment (11) and any additional equipment items connected
to the two shut-off valves (5). The three subsystems are supplied by two Pitot heads,
each of which includes 2 total pressure inlets and 2 static
pressure ports.

Switches (2), (3) and (4) are selected “ON”. Logic circuits
(9) and (10) in the “ Ground” state complete the ground
circuit to energize relays (8) and (11). The Pitot head heat-
ing resistors (15) are supplied in series from the DC es-
sential bus. Connecting the resistors in series reduces
the heating power by 50%. The static port heating resis-
tors (14) are supplied with 115 VAC power in series via
relays (8) and (11): they are also operating at half power.
