Subject Area: Common Core standards for Nevada

Standards: Students will learn what Common Core is used for and why school districts have it.

Students will know what the Common Core standards are for Nevada. Students will be able to

define all of the vocabulary words.

Objectives: Students will be able to define vocabulary that is given. Students will be able to

identify what the Nevada School Performance Framework is. Students will be able to answer the

Question of the Day. (What does CCSSI stand for?) Students will be able to answer the five

questions in the assessment.

Materials/Equipment: Powerpoint, Video, Video Worksheet

Procedures:

A. Teacher Procedures:

1.Hand out video worksheet, that will be used for the lesson.

2. Introduce the powerpoint.

2.Question of the Day (What does CCSSI stand for?)

4. Present video

5. Go over video worksheet.

6. Continue with presentation.

7. Go over the Question of the Day answer ( Common Core State Standard Initiative)

2. Answer video questions while watching it.

3. Go over correct answers.

Closure: Students will answer five questions to review what they have learned.

Assessment: Students will answer five questions to review what they have learned during the

presentation.
