Summary
The in vitro cultivation of plants is based on the isolation of organs, tissues or plant cells
and the adjustment of the conditions necessary to obtain physiological or morphogenic
responses from these explants. In vitro cell and tissue culture (CCTV) involves different
techniques from different plant material such as chloroplasts, cells, tissues, organs and
even whole plants. The ability of a cell to generate an individual completely identical to
the mother cell, which has the same genetic information and the same function.
Contrary to these effects, its usefulness in the improvement of crops through the
creation of new variants The crop is incubated under conditions of controlled light,
temperature and humidity, which together with the physicochemical and nutritional lead
the development of the explant towards the formation of an amorphous cell mass called
callus, or towards differentiation into an organized tissue that will produce organs or
embryos. The calluses obtained by this procedure can be subcultured for their
maintenance and propagation or induce their differentiation to form organs
(organogenesis), embryos (embryogenesis) or pass to a liquid culture medium to obtain
cells and small aggregates in suspension.
