My Name is Muhammad Gilang Dwi Putra , I am in first year Medical Student of Andalas
University , Padang , West Sumatera, Indonesia. I was born at Bandung , May 16th 1997. I am
writing this motivation letter for student exchange programme provided by Standing Committee
on Research Exchange (SCORE).

I am interested with health problem since i was a child. One of my aim in my life is health
improvement for others, so by joined this research i could reach my aim and make a better future.
That is the reason i choose medical major to help the other by changing bad habits of the citizens
and cure them. I intend to compare the health issues in Indonesia with other countries’ . As a
medical student i stand for health improvement including handling health problem in Indonesia.
Thus, I want to learn and practice abroad by doing research so I can compare and apply the result
for Indonesian’s better future.

I have been joining research exchange program in junior high school held by ORACLE Thinkquest
which focused on lowering number of pollution in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.I worked in this
research via online with students from Thailand. In order to solve this issue, we made an
arboretum in my school area. By creating arboretum, my research team hoped it would decrease
pollution.

To continue my interest in doing research, I joined SCORE-CIMSA (Center for Indonesian Medical
Students’ Activities) Universitas Andalas, part of IFMSA. Because i believe in my passion so i might
be useful for my country by applying medical studies. By doing the research exchange i could
enrich my knowledge ,skils and improvement about medical science, also learn about social and
culture of the country.

Russia federation is a country with semi-presidental system, located in northern Eurasia which
the largest country in the world. Russia has 46 provinces , 22 republic and 3 federal cities. The
capital city of Russia Federation is Moscow. The country has 142 million people which 75% of
citizen is cristian. While, the others moeslem and buddist.Slavic ortodoks is the most dominate
culture , and many Russian has distinctive tradition regarding folk music. I choose Russia
because the country has similiar health problem with Indonesia. According to WHO, over 60%
mortality rate in Russia caused by cardiovascular problem. So i want to compare health
condition between my country and Russia. By doing research i also want to see health habbit in
that country and apply the result of my study to improving my nation’s health.

I am able to manage my daily routine and do it right away. I have a very arranged life. Time is
very important for me, once you lose it , it wont back. Also I am sociable person, so I have a lots
of friend. For example I joined many organization since elementary school until now. Also I’d
like to interact with other people. Besides, it could improve my communication skills not only in
my country but also in other country.

I hope that I can join the research, get experiences , learn , and making Indonesian next
generation better for the future and improving nation’s health. Thank you for your
