My Imaginary State

Name of State​: Nemo Republic

Territory: 300 km^2, its territory is island under the water surrounded by ocean.

Population: 50,000 people, not much people so it is easy to control and manage. People will be more quality in
terms of education, health and economic. There are mixed races of people in the country such as African,
American, Asian and Europe people.
Government: There are many ministries such as economics, military, finance, foreign affairs and etc. The name
of government that currently rule is Nomo.

Sovereignty: Nemo land has create the state since 1999 and they have sovereignty

Nation : They have common history : they feel that the weather on land is very hot and fluctuate. So theses
group of people moved to underwater and founded Nemo land.
Type of Government
(explain what type of government your state has, be as specific as possible,
then describe how this type of government can or will affect its citizens - this part can be general)
Type of government: Oligarchy that give some freedom for people to express idea and then the government will
chose the most effective idea to work on. The people that is chosen to become a part of Nomo government is
based on best ability to organize and manage problem in every aspects such as agriculture, finance, foreign
affair and etc. Also, these people require a virtue test to determine that they are good people.
Effects (or potential effects) of the type of government chosen ​(at least 1 paragraph - 5 sentences)​​:
People will be in control and order. As a result, the society will be more peaceful. People unite together
so the process that government manage is more convenient than other type of government. In addition,
having one group of people to control all of the decisions in government will create stability of the
country in which the rate of crime will be lower. Group of people who run the government can share
their many aspect of ideas so it is better than just one person shares idea; therefore, citizens will receive
the most benefit policy and solution. On the other hand, citizens will have less liberty to express
themselves resulting in less diversity of thought and culture. In addition, people might protest and rebel
the government if the government cannot manage well.

Type of State: Unitary

Effects (or potential effects) of the type of State chosen ​(at least 1 paragraph - 5 sentences)​​:
Having Unitary state to centralize all power to the central government will make citizen feel more
nationalism and love the country. So citizens will work hard in order to complete with other country.
The local government will have less power as they need to follow the policy that created by central
government which will have less chance to rebel the government causing stability in the country. When
local government receive some small problem, they can manage by themselves; however, in case of a

serious question, local government must report to central government to solve the problem. The law
over Unitary state is all the same so it is not flexible for some areas that have different culture and
people. Also, Unitary state is hard to control thoroughly in every city if the country is big. However,
Nemo land is small so it is not matter for this disadvantage.

Montesquieu

Effects ​(at least 1 paragraph - 5 sentences)​​:
This government rarely follows Montesquieu’s idea to separate power into three main branches which
Executive, Legislative and Judicial. This is because if the power is divided, then it is more likely to rebel
this type of government (Oligarchy). For example, if government is divided and the military group have
more power over other branch, then it more likely to rebel the government. But if all power is in one
control, then it is hard to overthrow the government. It will affects citizen as they will have less freedom
and some citizen might not trust the government if there is some evidence of corruption. On the other
hand, government that follow Montesquieu’s idea is hard to corruption because there is check and
balance on power, so many people can check other group easier than just one group have all power.

However, Namo government is loyal to their citizen because people who want to be in oligarchy group
need to pass many test in both virtue and academic knowledge. As the population in the government
increase, it is hard to corrupt because it will be more detects easily. Therefore, citizens can ensure that
the government is absolutely benefit to them which will increase more stability in politics of the
country.

Hobbes, Locke, or Rousseau

The purpose of the government is similar to Hobbes. Namo government believe that the nature of human
beings are selfish; therefore, we need government to keep the society in order. The effects of this is that
people will give up a little liberty to a government to organize thing. The military and police will strict
about people who breaking the law, so people are scare to do bad things. Then, the crime rates will
decrease.
Authoritarianism or Libertarianism (government power)
(clearly explain if the ideas of your government are more similar to authoritarianism or libertarianism
and then describe how this can or will affect its citizens)

Authoritarianism : This government is more similar to authoritarianism. As a result, citizens will be
more instills discipline that they will obedient the laws and not cause trouble to the society. Law will be
very strict and has harsh punishment for people who break the law. In addition, the process of making
law in which create to support people is faster, so people can benefit from the these law quickly.
However, citizen will have less freedom in politic and cannot much require government to take action in
what citizen want. The size of government is not big but strong because Nemo land is small. There will
be head of each ministeration and have many followers. The size of military and police is strong but not
large. However, normal citizens can be a part time police and report crime to real police and get reward.
This will influence people to follow the rule strictly.

Socialism or Liberalism (economics)

Government is more similar to liberalism but also little similar to socialism too. People can have their
own property and business resulting in more competition so they will work hard to earn more money.
The society will develop quickly in technology, science and economic because people have motivation.
In addition, people will have high education because they want to have a better job. However, the tax
rate that each person pay will depends on their income so that government can improve facility. The
education is start from primary school until Ph.D. Also, the school is separated into private and public
school. Therefore, citizen will have different job according to what they learn. This will create a social
classes; however, Nomo government try to make a policy that reduce the gap between rich and poor
such as high tax on rich people.
