SOWING THE BEST

Sowing the best… Planting the best…

Now that we have a healed heart, we can start sowing good stuff in our relationships.
This is a very important principle that we need to learn & apply if we want to keep lasting relationship… between
spouses, within a family, among siblings, in the cell, in the church.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
 Our life is a product of what we have been sowing in the past. We are a product of the SOWING we have
made so far…
 If we want to reap the best in life and in our relationships, we’ve got to learn to sow the best!!!
 God wants the best for us. He gave us His best. He gave us His life.
 John 10:10 The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its
fullness.

Mat 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the
Prophets.
God wants us to enjoy life! God wants us to enjoy our relationship! God wants us to enjoy our family!!!

I. PLAN OF GOD
Proverbs 18:22 The man who finds a wife finds a treasure and receives favor from the Lord.
Marriage starts as a gift received from God.
Every family starts with that point of being blessed by God. Every family starts with a blessing.
Every marriage starts with 2 persons feeling fulfilled to find somebody who will love him, uphold him and bring out
the best in him.
Your family could have started right but is so different now…
What if our family did not start the way it should have started?

1.STRENGTH OF LOYALTY
 Revealed to a man, but can only be fulfilled with the whole family joining him in carrying out His plan.
 Mal 2:15 Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his.* And what does
he want? Godly children from your union. So guard yourself; remain loyal to the wife of your youth.
 We all face difficult situations. We face temptations. But we must work hard to preserve our home and not
to make impulsive decisions because the home is worth a lot. Ex: violence & physical abuse, verbal abuse
like “makaalis na nga!” “sampalin kita (sabay sampal nga)
 When a family is destroyed, the possibility that the children will continue the blessing of God falls to the
ground.
 Where there is respect, love and faithfulness, the children will be secure and they grow without wounds or
trauma or future resentment.

2. DISCIPLINE
In the family, we should discipline without wounding, rather, with molding. The discipline in the home should bring
about a molding of a person and not a wounding or destruction.

3. UNITY
Isa 30:17 one of us can put a thousand to flight...
Together in the hands of God, two become powerful dynamite!

4 COMMUNICATION
Parents should give the children adequate space so that they can talk and express what is in their hearts. It is very
important to listen to their opinions about us.
STORY: date with Lorena that ended with a pact and commitment
5. RESTORING FATHERHOOD
The father is like the captain of a ship: if he makes a mistake, he can destroy the whole ship. God has placed
everybody else as pilots of our ship. We should have very good communication with the control of the tower.
The father is the priest of the home, and if her forgets to teach his children the law of God, He also will forget his
children.

STORY: Ps Cesar’s father died when he was 10 yrs old. And so, he did not have an image of a father. And when he
started praying and relating to God, He thinks that God looks at him but with anger & terror.
 Our intimate relationship with God will fill the void in our hearts that result from our lack in the family. Ex:
absentee father, abusive father or mother, broken family, extra marital relationships

Even if your family is not according to the plan of God, from now on we can start sowing the best seeds so we can
experience the plan of God for us.
Ex: you used to plant negative seeds about yourself, start planting the best seeds about yourself. Talk
positively about yourself
- you used to plant negative seeds in your family, start sowing the best in them

II. SEEDS TO SOW

1. PLANT POSITIVE ATTITUDE
 This includes positive language.
 Opposite of this is: talking negatively. Everything that you have spoken negatively are being removed now
and you have to decide what seed to sow.
 ILLUS: Your response should always carry the anointing of God. – Ps Claudia
 What do your responses carry?
 Eph 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for
building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
 Ex: F-word. There are other worse words than F-word… when you speak negatively about yourself, about
others, gossiping, discouraging others, insulting people, disrespecting people, etc.
 The things that usually freak us out… kinakainisan mo, or kinatatakutan mo… wala na yan!
 God is not insulting you and He is speaking positively about you.
 God has a clear concept of you. And it is positive and accurate.
 Psalm 139:17 How precious are your thoughts about me,[fn2] O God! They are innumerable!
 And because you are receiving that love from God, you can give out love in your attitude and words.
 Speak the language of faith.. “I CAN DO ALL THINGS through Christ…” “I am more than a conqueror…” No
need to be intimidated!

2. PLANT INTEGRITY
 INTEGRITY = doing the right thing when no one is watching!
 1 Tim 4:7-8 Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Spend your time and
energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness. Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual
exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.
 Whoever accepts the divine laws will not break the human ones.
 Obedience and commitment to God’s word is what integrity is all about.

3. PLANT SPIRITUALITY
Psalm 119:10-11 I have tried my best to find you- don't let me wander from your commands. I have hidden
your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
 Salvation is not hereditary. It is a personal commitment to God.
 Do your devotional! Read the Bible! Pray!!
 Spirituality vs addictive religiousity
 We should create an atmosphere whereby everybody will be inspired to give their lives to Jesus and to live
for Him – our parents, our kids, our siblings, etc.
 STORY: Julia’s devotional…
 Sow the best! Sow what you receive here!

4. PLANT DISCIPLINE
 Discipline is to give them direction, not to hurt them but to create traumas.
 Discipline is the brake that stops the uncontrolled urges of the human being.
 Be disciplined in doing devotional, going to cell, going to church, tithing..
 Proverbs 29:11 A child is born with foolish tendencies and discipline is what will remove that from
him.
 Heb 12:11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-it is painful! But afterward there will be a
quiet harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
 Heb 12:8 If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate
and are not really his children after all.
 Discipline is not with a firm rod, but with loving, understanding, caring and guiding rod. Thereby, they will
not only admire and obey you but they want to imitate you in everything.

5. PLANT A CORRECT IMAGE

 Destroying the image of ourselves that God has given us is as good as killing our dreams.
 Don’t compare yourself with others.
 Don’t compare people with yourself. Don’t compare your parents! Don't compare your kids!

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish
of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [fn] and over all the creatures that
move along the ground."
V27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created
them.

Psalm 139:1-6
O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away.
v3 You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.
v4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.
V5 You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
v6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know!

Psalm 139:17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable!

Mark 1:11 And a voice came from heaven saying, "You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you."
God is watching over you…

You cannot give what you do not have… Receive the love of God now so you can sow it…

MINISTRY TIME: receive new self-image [Background music: Innocence]

 You may have planted wrong things in your life and you feel it is so hard to uproot them.
 But our past is not a tree that is immovable. Our past life – sin, shame, guilt, etc – they are all like hay… They
are like grass that withers… and you can do away with it!!! Right here in the Encounter!!!
 And you will start planting the best! That people around you will be surprised and wonder where the old
you went to…
 You received the love of God… And that is what you’ve got now to sow… That is the seed that you are
holding right now…
