Let us first consider the strength of the chart and why he has to struggle in life.

Birth of the native is on Vishti Karana. The word iviò means service / compulsory work / labor
/ slavery / forced service / changing / alternating etc.

Why the above is important? In realistic sense, not all that are born in Vishti karana may not be
alike. However it shows some underlying tendencies or traits, which could be detrimental
particularly if one is involved in a highly competitive environment. Further Vishti also indicates
unexpected calamities in life.
Hence we have to look for other indications that could be complimentary to the above. In the
absence of such factors, Vishti karana alone may not be very effective.

In the chart, Lagna is in Vrischika rashi and 2nd drekana. This is Sarpa drekana.

This is the SECOND drekana of VRISCHIKA rasi. This is form of a lady whose body is wound
by serpents. She is round like the body of a tortoise and she has pot like belly. She earns for the
upper status of her husband.

The body is bound by serpants. Implies a static state bound by many kinds of compulsions from
which it is not easy to escape. On one hand the mind is eager to go forward and achieve success,
happiness, honor, status etc. But the karmic bonds are holding him down. Serpents here are
symbolic representations of karmic bonds both visible and invisible.

Visible bonds are those from relatives, ones work etc while invisible are from his own past
karma. This is evident from the Vrischika rashi itself and from Kumbha rashi. Both indicting the
dark and past life.

Both these signs are termed as DÚpap> sins that are kept hidden implying that what is keeping
him tied down are his own sins that could be from the past life also.

To aggravate the issue or as if to directly indicate the issues, rahu & gulika are also occupying
the Lagna.

Now consider the 5th house if intelligence / prudence / commonsense and its lord Jupiter. It is
retrograde and is displaced into the 12th sign from its own. This is an illusionary state and unless
one learns to see the truth, he shall never be able to get out of that vortex he has fallen in. It is
very much possible as the lagna lord has gone to his friend house and Jupiter being retro is very
near to but out of debilation. The unfortunate situation is that, the so called friend and supporter
Sun has moved out and away from lagna lord and here also you can see the Janma lord Saturn
chasing the Lagna lord from the 8th house. This further confirms the prime contention that his
past is following him like a hunter dog.

The previous drekana (1st drekana of Vischika) and its lord Mars indicates the reason for the
present condition. From its indication and the position of Venus in the 8th indicates that this is
Stree Shapa. He must have been instrumental for insulting a lady, out casting her taking away her
wealth, honor etc. Any way that is another aspect, probably irrelevant since there is no way to
confirm.

Venus + Saturn in the 8th house: The above clearly shows subservience and difficulties in life.
One need not have exact experience in life, as stated by the verses. It is enough to understand the
implications.

Sun + Mercury in the 9th : This indicates a person who always have sadness and opponents or
opposition in life though he is very clever / competent / intelligent (education) etc.

There is another factor here: karaka planets in karaka sthana. Sun is the karaka for the 9th house,
occupying the 9th and Moon in the Karaka for the 4th occupying the 4th. Karaka planets in the
Karaka sthanas are not good in general except for a strong jupiter in the 5th and a strong Saturn in
the 8th. Moon in sukha sthana and sun in pitra sthana. In what way can this native achieve peace
etc in life? Yes once he sees the truth and comes out of the illusions, the bonds shall disappear.

I have written the above as a answer to a question ”Why this native is suffering inspite of good
education etc?”. It is not my intention to give a full life reading.

Let me now move on to the explain the two incidences in his life.

Death of brother in Jun-Jul 1997 at the age of 23 (of the native).

During the period one can see that Saturn was traveling in Pisces sign. The sign having the
drekana varga and dwadasamsa varga of Sun. Saturn is the Sahodara sthanadhipathy tranasiting
over Moksha rashi of pisces and Sun is the 8th house lord from the 3rd house – Sahodara bhava.

Meaning: Compute the Dreshkaana, Navamsa & Dwadasamsa position of the 8th lord from any
bhava. When Saturn transits through these signs, the bhava shall be destroyed. When Jupiter
transits through them ( above vargas of the Bhava lord), the bhava shall flourish.

The condition fully satisfies with the varga position of Sun (8th lord from the sahodara bhava -3rd
house). Incidentally Jupiter was transiting through the 3rd bhava in a debilated state. For the 3rd
house (Makara rashi). By the way vimshottari dasa was

The above verse are simple to understand and any student of astrology with a slight knowledge
of Sanskrit shall understand the implications.

Birth of child (female). Jupiter was transiting over the Exalted varga (Navamsa) of Mercury, the
5th lord from Chandra lagna – a direct indication. Jupiter was also transiting in the trikona rashi
of Navamsa sign of Moon & Venus (7th lord). One may ask why Saturn transiting over the
Mithuna sign, being the trikona of Drekana rashi of Venus who is the 8th lord from the 5th house.
Here we have to understand that Saturn is also the drakana lord of venus and he is also the
Chandra lagna lord. Being a natural malafic planets, he could have posed some difficulties
during the pregnancy and at the time of delivery also. However Jupiter has a role to play too and
the dasa at the time : Mercury-Mercury-Rahu is very relevant. Mercury is the 5th lord from
Chandra lagna and occupying the exalted sign of Kanya in navamsa and Jupiter was transiting
over it. Mercury and rahu are placed in trikonas too.

This is further clarified if we look at the kalachakra dasa: Mithuna-Kumbha-Karkata. Mithuna is

the 5th bhava from Chandra lagna, Kumbha is the rashi occupied by the 5th lord and Putra karaka
Jupiter as well as the 9th lord Moon. Karkata is the 9th sign and sign of moon and occupied by the
5th lord mercury and Karaka for the bhagya & pitra : Sun.

Both in Kalachakra as well as Vimshottari we can see the involvement of stree rashi and jupiter
transiting over Kanya: do we need any more indication for the birth of a female child ( I would
say gain of a female child : being labha sthana).

His other problems:

Approximately since 2005, Saturn was transiting over Karkata : sign occupied by Karma lord,
Simha, Karma sthana from lagna and over lagna lord, 7th house (kantaka) and now over Kanya,
8th of Chandra lagna. To some extant the effect of Saturn transiting over the signs of prakasha

grahas have not been good(it generally is not good as we have seen the global situation) and
now in the 8th creates further issues with depleting finances etc.

Hence it is quite natural that the native inspite of having good education has suffered much in
life. Education can only supplement one’s earning capacity but it can never be a singular element
in its cause or for peace and happiness.
