RE: PA CD6 Brushfire Poll Results DATE: 10/8/10

The brushfire poll shows Congressman Gerlach with a commanding lead over his Democratic opponent Manan
Trivedi. The automated poll was conducted 9/28 – 9/30 with 700 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/-
3.7%. Key highlights of the poll are as follow:

• In the congressional ballot-test match up you hold a commanding 61% to 31% lead among likely voters
with 7% undecided. Plus, among those “definitely” voting for a candidate you lead on intensity with
49% “definite” support, compared to only 25% “definitely” voting for Trivedi. This shows you have a
much stronger base of support.

• Your support is very broad-based with solid leads among most key demographic groups including
Republicans (88% support), Independents (67%), males (64%) and females (58%). You also hold
commanding leads in virtually all counties that make up the 6th Congressional District including 61% in
Berks, 68% in Chester and 54% in Montgomery which collectively account for 99% of the district.

• The poll shows voters lean Republican on the “generic” ballot for Congress by a 47R/44D margin,
including 81% of Republicans and 53% of Independents. This validates national polling that shows that
most voters prefer Republican candidates for Congress due to continued dissatisfaction with the
policies of both President Obama and the Democratic-controlled US Congress.

• In addition, 52% of likely voters have an unfavorable opinion of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. This is
further proof voters do not support her policies and are prepared to vote against both Trivedi and
other Democratic candidates who will be a rubber stamp for the Pelosi/Obama agenda in Washington.

Methodology: This survey was commissioned by the Gerlach for Congress Committee. Calls were conducted with
automated technology using a pre-recorded set of questions instructing voters to complete the survey by pressing their
telephone key pads to score their answers; no live interviewers were used. The universe includes voters with vote
history in G09, G08, G07 and/or G06. A vote intensity screen was used to gauge interest in the 11/2 elections.
Interviews are monitored to ensure a representative sample of the district is achieved. The margin of error is +/-3.7% at
the 95% confidence level, but higher for sub groups of respondents. Susquehanna Polling and Research is a
Pennsylvania-based polling firm for both candidates for public office (GOP only) primarily in PA, NY, NJ, FL, DE and other
Northeast states. SP&R’s automated polling was recently cited by the News Service of Florida as having predicted the
closest margin of victory for Rick Scott’s victory over Bill McCollum in the 8/24 GOP Florida Gubernatorial Primary.
