Human evolution

and left hands free to use

The use of tools and fire: To prepare food caused jaws and teeth to

Holding the head: Above the skeleton increased cranial capacity and
brain development

The appearance of a flat forehead and a chin: Gave humans their
present day appearance

Intelligence: This changes increased the hability to comunicate
through language. This allowed to create tools, work in groups and
pass their knowledge on to the next generation

With the appearance of humans the Paleolithic Age began. This was 2 / 6
the first period in the Prehistory of mankind
Paleolithic Age
●
The lives of early humans: Humans live from hunting
animals so they were predators. Hunting was did in
groups.

The control of fire: From a volcano or a bolt, later
Neanderthalk learnt to light fires. Human could keep
warm, light thei caves and cook food.

The production of tools: They use bones like hammers.

Neolithic Age

New stone age: People develop the technique of
polishing stone. They develop farming too

Food production and sedentary life: People learnt
from nature andthen they began livestock farming.

New tasks and new tools: They led to the invention
of tools. Wearing cloth developed using a spindle

Neolithic village: Homes were built with above
brickes. Village were located on high ground next to

The Metal Ages
●
A diverse society: Metal goods stimulated trade.
Under a king warriors governed the tribe

The discovery of metals: Gold was the first metal.
Later came copper, bronze and iron.

A bronze age settlement: Bronze Age settlements
were located on hills. The defensive walls were
fortified with stone or wooden stakes.

Bronze axe: Copper was mixed, liquid metal was
put into moulds, it was remove from a piece, 5/6
sharpnening, and ataching a handle
