Strengthening FHSIS

In the National Objectives for Health 2005-2010 (www2.doh.gov.ph/noh/toc.htm), FHSIS is


recognized as one of the major sources of Philippine Health Information of the Department of Health.
The following objectives are mentioned:

In order to meet this objective, the National Epidemiology Center through the FHSIS continues
to conduct activities not only to strengthen the collection of data but to advocate evidence-based decision
-making. One of the FHSIS reforms priorities is to identify indicators that will be helpful for the local
stakeholders. On September 26-28, PHOs, MHOs, CHO, nurses and midwives from all over the country
were selected for such workshop.
