1) Title: The Treasure of the Good Wizard

(Entertainment game for knowledge enrichment and interaction, for preschoolers between 5
and 6 years old.)

2) Theme of the game: Qualities

3) Didactic aim: capturing and maintaining the attention, developing the capacity of
expression, self-knowledge and spontaneity.

4) Didactic task: The children should identify their own qualities.

5) Operational objectives:
 to listen carefully and understand the story that underlies the game;
 to respect the rules of the game;
 to identify which of the traits/ characteristics told by the ”wizard” are applicable to them,
in particular;
 to tell correctly what quality fits the picture;
 to say one or two of the most important personal qualities;
 to actively participate in the musical part of the game by imitating the dance moves.

6) Stages of the game:

1st stage Preparing the children for the atmosphere of the game, motivating them.
(Example: ”Dear children, today we have prepared for you a fun game in which we will
discover the qualities of each of us. ...Do you want to play? ...Do you like sweets?”)
2nd stage Announcing the title of the game and the aim.
(”We will play a game named «The Treasure of the Good Wizard». The story is about a good
wizard; his treasure, made of candy, was stolen by the Wicked Gorilla. Now he needs the help
of children to fill the treasure chest with qualities and then to give it to the gorilla, in exchange
for the Candy Treasure.”)
3rd stage Presenting the materials for the game.
(”We have prepared for this game with: treasure chest, cards with images, wizard hat, stuffed
gorilla, music box and rewards (candy).”)
4th stage Explaining the rules and providing an example:
Easy level: The participants form a large circle. The teacher is the wizard and he sits in
the middle of the circle, along with his qualities box. The Wizard says one feature (example: a
color of shoes or "Who has a cat at home?" or "Born in December!" etc.) and the first player
who realizes he meet that specific feature jumps to take the box and goes back in the circle.
That child opens the box and randomly chooses a card.
Medium-hard level: The child tries to name what quality is represented in image. After
that, he says the qualities that characterize himself (one or two qualities). The game will end
after each child goes through these two levels.
Some behaviour rules should be considered too. (”And regarding your behaviour during the
game, I want you to remain in circle, to be silent when your colleagues speak and pay
attention to what they say, so you can know each other better”).
In the end, the box will be filled with all the qualities of the children and only then it
will be really valuable, so the Good Wizard will be able to recover his real treasure, the Candy
Treasure.
5th stage First, we will demonstrate how to play.
6th stage The children will actually play, according to the rules of the game.
7th stage Refreshing the atmosphere: the treasure box will turn into a music box. The
children will listen to the song and try to imitate the dance moves indicated by The Good
Wizard.
8th stage Ending and evaluating the game: Every child will receive a candy, as a reward for
helping the Good Wizard. Some of the children will read and translate the word (representing
a quality) attached to the candy.
