INTRODUCTION
This Latin textbook is meant for students of medicine (including dentistry) and

pharmacy who have not learnt Latin before.

The textbook contains sixteen lessons, each of which consists of three parts:

a) a text of simple sentences relating to the art of healing,

b) Latin proverbs, ancient and modern,

c) exercises.

Further practice for self-study and feedback is provided in the tests after the sixteenth

lesson.

Additional chapters include a broad selection of technical terms from the fields of

anatomy, clinical medicine and pharmacy; a reference list of Greek elements, a concise

Latin Grammar and a Latin-English vocabulary.

The author trusts that this textbook will enable students to acquire the basic vocabulary

and structures of medical Latin so that they can then use them creatively in their future

profession.
