It is a great pleasure to invite you as a speaker at the Asia Pacific Association of Medical
Journal Editors (APAME 2017) Convention. The APAME2017 convention will be held at the
Vientiane Plaza Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR on 18-19 August, 2017. As you know, we also have
the WPRIM meeting at the University of Health Science on 17 August and you will receive a
separate invitation message from the Office for the Western Pacific Region of WHO if you are
a member of the meeting.

1) Basic information

necessary. We would appreciate if you submit this information listed below by the end of
July 2017.

2) Information about the speaker

Your portrait, biography will be displayed at the website and please send us your image
file and biography in approximately 250 words. Portraits and biography of some speakers
are available at the website http://apame.link/xe/speakers for a reference.
We expect your submission of portrait and biography by the end of July 2017.

3) Abstract and presentation files

Abstracts will be printed in a booklet and please submit your abstract before 10 August.
Your abstract may include figures and tables but they together will be printed in one page.
Your presentation files are to be uploaded to the computer at the conference hall on the
day of your lecture.

4) Open access policy of your abstract and presentation files

Author(s) own full copyright on their abstracts and presentation files. By submitting your

 abstract, APAME2017 consider your permission to use the abstracts and presentation files
in PDF format to be displayed at the website of APAME. Authors, however, still retain full
copyrights and they may reuse and publish those abstracts and presentation files if you
cite properly.

5) The registration fees for participants including speakers are displayed at the website. The
organizing committee sincerely ask speakers to pay registration fee at the same rate as that
for participants. For speakers, however, we apply early registration rate (U$100) even they
pay on-site. Please understand for not waiving your registration fee even for speakers
except for participants from less served countries based on HINARI definition:
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Kiribati, Lao DPR, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea
and Vietnam.

6) The organizing committee will not cover expenses for your travel and participation in the
meeting and convention and it shall be at your own cost.
The code for hotel booking the room at Vientiane Plaza for APAME Convention 2017
delegates (for a discount) is “APAME-VTPH”. The discount for the standard deluxe room
and for the airport pickup are as follows. Please kindly contact the hotel directly by
yourself for booking etc.

7) The organizing committee express a special thanks to all supporters on this convention:
Lee Jongwook Seoul project will cover the welcome dinner. KAMJE donated U$2800
including registration fee for 10 Korean delegates. Editage Inc donated U$1300. Jeong-
Wook Seo donated the cost for the construction and maintenance of the current website of
APAME. The current level of support is far inferior to the expected cost but the loss will
be paid by organizing committee. Additional donation by members are cordially invited.
Each of the president and vice-president of APAME, Wilfred Peh and Jeong-Wook Seo,
volunteered to donate U$500.

We believe that your participation in the meetings would be a great opportunity for medical
journal editors, reviewers, editorial staff, publishers, and librarians to discuss various
challenges and objectives.
