N yn New England, Ine, ‘As per plans attached, the applicant is proposing to reinforce and extend the existing 105+/- f. tower on the site. The Applicant is proposing to reinforce the existing tower (see structural plans) and add an approximately 45+/- f. high extension. The tower will also require an additional 5+/- ft. lightning rod. The new tower height will be 150+/- ft. (155 ft. with the lightning rod). The increase in tower height will allow the applicant to raise the center lines of the existing Verizon antennas, to 145 ft. and 115 ft. respectively. This will eliminate repeated outages on the Hyannis to Nantucket microwave path (including enhanced 911 calls). By way of Background, the existing tower and site has the benefit of several prior Special Permits, the most recent of which (2013-002). Modification of the existing Special Permit(s) or issuance of anew Special Permit by the Planning Board is required. ‘The applicant at the request of the Town has also obtained a Jurisdictional determination letter from the CCC (see attached). ‘The Applicant has filed with the FAA for the proposed extension and obtained an approval (see approval attached). ‘The Applicant has already filed and obtained Site Plan Approval for the proposed project (see attached approval letter from SPR). ‘The project also requires approval of the Hyannis Main Street Waterftont Historic District. ‘There are no proposed changes to the site layout, buildings or fencing. The existing paved areas will remain unchanged.
