3 4 12 I have the capability to express myself in different types
Ability to express self well in writing of form of writing and being able to change the styles and
fonts, by using them on these type of documents such as,
word document, presentation (adding images and
different fonts to it) to make it look more presentable and
intriguing, and I have some experience in doing
spreadsheets on Excel by producing tables, chart and
graphs and creating leaflets and booklets on word
document.
Verbal:

clearly and concisely to a group of front of a large group, but I do have some experience in
people standing in front of a small group and communicating in
front of them, such as representing a presentation or what
we have learnt in the lesson at college. But I do feel I’m
not confident as much to be able to communicate and stand
up in front of a large group of people and I can express
myself clearly and loudly but just not self-assured of
myself.
Non-verbal:
Listening​​ – ability to attend actively to 3 5 15 I think that I have suitable and appropriate listening skills
others’ views and ideas and understand because it’s very important to note things down and what
their point of view is being told, as then I’ll be prepared of what needs to be
done from me and what is required. It’s a very important
skill to have for my chosen career because you have to get
an accurate understanding of what needs to be taken notice
of, in order to be able to recognise other people’s point of
views.
Body Language​​ – ability to match body 4 5 20 I think I am capable to express myself sometimes through
language appropriately to what is being of doing body language because I fairly use any gestures
said verbally or any facial expressions but I do keep eye contact with
the individual I am communicating to and stand up in a
suitable posture whilst speaking. This skills is essential for
my job role of a business analyst because you need to be
able to demonstrate any body movement or facial
expressions of speaking to other people, so they are able to
understand of what message you are trying to say and for
them to be able to receive it correctly and being able to
respond back.
WORKING WITH OTHERS
Cooperation
Ability to collaborate effectively within 3 4 12 I am capable of working as a team or in a group, but I’m
a team not as much confident of being able to communicate of
what needs to be said depending on the topic we need to
speak about. This skill is fairly important for my chosen
career because you need to be able to work in a team
effectively and being able to cooperate with them, in order
to get feedback of what is being said and how to improve
that solution further.
Negotiation
Ability to reach a mutually satisfactory 4 4 16 I have some capabilities of being able to reach the
outcome through compromise satisfaction outcome through involvement because I am
able to compromise within the group and try to give of my
thoughts and opinions are but I might not as much
confident in doing this particular skill. This skill is quite
important for my job role of becoming a business analyst
because you need to be able to understand of what other
people are saying and try to respond back of their is any
problems that would be need solving for improvement.
Sensitivity
Ability to respond appropriately to 3 5 15 I have the ability to respond back to other individuals
individual differences, e.g., age, gender, differences and what my opinions are but I can be quite
etc. nervous of doing so but this is a important skills for a
business analyst because whilst working in teams and
people are giving their thoughts out of what they think will
be right, you have to be able to retaliate and respond back
if that solution is accurate or inaccurate of what the topic is
about.
Leadership
Ability to encourage and motivate 3 4 12 I have the potential to motivate and encourage other people
others in a positive aspect of what will be the right solution but I
wouldn’t be able to give as much only something that can
guide them as I could be incorrect but this specific skills
will be important for a business analyst because people
would need some motivation and self confidence that they
are doing the right thing, as long they think positively
about the situation.

Ability to evaluate competing priorities 3 4 12 I feel that I am capable to assess of prioritising plans for
to plan ahead the future, in order to reach and accomplish towards that
goal. This will required of the role of a business analyst
because it benefits the business of being able to assess and
evaluate arrangements that need to be planned further
ahead for the company being able to be stable and
knowing what needs to be developed, which will be an
advantage towards the business.
APPLICATION OF NUMBER
Calculations
Ability to use a calculator or PC to 3 5 15 I have the ability to work out calculations on a PC or being
make calculations able to use a calculator, as I am experienced in this type of
skill. This will be important for a business analyst because
as part of the role their is a financial side to it of being
capable of doing the accounting part of the job role, by
deciphering numbers.
Interpretation
Ability to interpret descriptive statistics, 4 3 12 I am quite experienced in this skill, but I am not as
e.g. ratios percentages, means, standard confident in doing it but it’s fairly important for my job
deviations role in the future because it’s not partially required within
of what a business analyst does and they don’t involve that
much maths into it. You might have to calculate
percentages of the performance on the business.
Ability to interpret inferential statistics, 4 3 12 I don’t have as much experience in this because I am not
e.g., confidence intervals, statistical confident to interpret statistics but it’s not essential for the
significance, effect size job role of a business analyst because it’s not included of
what they need to do for the accounting side of it.
Application
Ability to organise and present 3 4 12 I have experience in this and I am capable of organising
numerical data in an appropriate manner and arranging numerical data in a suitable manner to make
it look presentable. This skill is quite important for a
business analyst role because whilst representing databases
to other individuals it will have to be in an appropriate
manners.

File Management Techniques
Ability to create, store and retrieve files 3 4 12 I have the ability to create, store and redeem files because I
am equipped in this specific skill, as I have arranged and
produced files before. This skills will be fairly important
for a business analyst because if your asked to create and
redeem a file on a PC you have to know the skill, in order
to achieve this.
Word Processing (e.g. MS Word)
Ability to use a word processing (WP) 3 3 9 I am able to use a word processor of creating, editing and
package to produce a variety of formats printing documents out, as I am potentially capable of
of documents doing this specific skill. It would be quite important for the
job role I would like to do because if I am asked to use a
word processor and have experience in this, I will know of
what needs to be accomplished from me.
Spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel)
Ability to use a spreadsheet to record 3 4 12 I am experienced in this from college because I have
and manipulate different sets of data prepared spreadsheets before on how to set up data on it.
This will be important for my job role because as part of
accounting that is included for a business analyst, I will
know how to set databases on a spreadsheet in different
types of formats.

use databases for information to keep track on
progression and what percentage they are at. I would like
to be experienced in this skills, which will benefit me for
the job role.
Ability to create a database 3 4 12 I am experienced in this particular skill of being able to
produce a database, as I have done it in college, by
creating tables, charts and graphs on spreadsheets. This
is important for a business analyst because you have to
be qualified of knowing how to create a database and
how to use one when it comes to of doing this specific
skill.
Presentations (e.g., MS PowerPoint)
Ability to create and display a 2 5 10 I am experienced in this skill, as I have produced
PowerPoint presentation presentations for assignments at college and I am
capable of displaying it in front of everyone to show
what I have represented. This skill is very important for
a business analyst because it’s part of their role to be
able to represent presentations in front of other people
and display it, so they are able to communicate of what
their point of view is on the topic they are discussing
about.
Information and Communication
Ability to send and receive e-mail 3 3 9 I am qualified of doing this skill, as I used my personal
email to send messages and I have received some from
other individuals, so I know the outcome of this ability.
This is fairly important for a business analyst because
they don’t send emails that much often, unless it’s
important but you have to know this skill in case it
comes up whilst doing this job role and if your asked to
do it.
Ability to send and receive attachments 3 3 9 I am capable of sending and being able to use
by e-mail attachments to send through emails. This is quite
important for a business analyst because if your asked to
send or able to receive attachments through email, you
would have to know on how to be able to do that certain
skill.
Ability to use an internet browser, e.g., 2 4 8 I have the potential on how to use a internet browser,
Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL such as using internet explorer because I use this very
often when I need to search things on the PC to use the
internet. This will be important for a business analyst, so
they are able to do their research and finding out
information through the internet browser.
Ability to download files from the 3 3 9 I have the ability to be able to download files from the
Internet and transfer to WP internet browser and how to transfer files through
emails, as I have done this if I need to download any
files to send to another person. This is fairly important
for a business analyst because you have to know how to
download and transfer files but it’s not used as much for
this specific role.
Ability to use a search engine, e.g. 3 4 12 I can use google, by searching and finding out
Altavista, Google information that needs to be researched. This will be
important for a business analyst role because they will
need to know how to search engines like google to be
able to research of what they need to find out
information from.

conceive existing ideas in a new way that could be an advantage but I am not much
experienced in conceiving existing ideas in a new way.

because whilst working in group of teams, you have to
come up with different solutions and come up with new
ways on how it can show a positive effect on the
organisation.

resourcefully act skillfully about it because in college, I have
experienced on how to take up certain solutions and how
to resolve them and enact on from that. This will be very
important for a business analyst role because as part of

matter doesn’t repeat again and able to instigate that
decision.

discussions and their are argumentative decisions they
would need to find ways on how to have evidence to be
able to prove it.

will be needed. This is not as much important for a
business analyst role but if their was certain information

● I am able to do some facial expressions and gestures, whilst I am communicating to another individual

communicating at the same time and for them to respond back in a suitable manner

I have developed and experience these various skills at the workplace I volunteered at which is Oxfam. Also, college, school and work

The different types of calculation skills that I provide are:


● Having the ability to be able to work out different calculations on a PC or calculator
● Able to use numbers financially of working out percentages
● Knowing the basic stuff for working out calculations regularly

I have developed this specific skills throughout college and school in doing mathematics.

Interpretation - ​Ability to interpret descriptive statistics, e.g. ratios percentages, means, standard deviations

The range of skills I require for this skill are:


● Able to work out percentages, decimals and standard calculations
● Knowing how to work out the performance of an organisation of it’s growth
● Able to perform calculator functions, such as solving math problems based on business

I have developed these type of different skills at college.

For this specific skill, I don’t have any evidence on this, as I haven’t developed this particular ability. I would like to improve this further head

● Having the ability produce presentations of laying it out professionally
● Having the capacity of representing a presentation in one of my tutorials
● Having the ability to add graphic images and moving the images with an effect from the tools that is provided

I have progressed the particular skill at college in my tutorials and lessons when I do my assignments of the work I have been set to do.

Information and Communication​​ - ​Ability to send and receive email

Information and communication skills I require are:


● Having the ability to send messages from emails and receiving some from other individuals
● Knowing the outcome of this ability
● Capable of using web mails, such as hotmails

I have developed the web mails personally because I have my own personal email on hotmail and doing it through college emails as well, so I
know how to use them whilst using college and my own of what the difference is between them both.

Ability to send and receive attachments as email

The skills I require from this topic are:


● Having the ability of sending and being able to use attachments to add onto the email and send them through to other individuals
● Able to receive attachments back through emails
● Able to forward coursework to tutors

I have done this at college and on my personal email to be able to send it towards other people through email of using attachments, which will
help me for my chosen role as a business analyst if I need to send any attachments to workers and be a very useful skill to have.

Ability to use an internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL

The skills that I provide for this particular subject is:


● Having the potential on to be able to use a internet browser, such as using google or internet explorer
● Able to retrieve any information of what I have researched that is useful to search on the internet
● Having the ability to research exam results on the student portal at college
● Knowing the topics to research for coursework on the internet browser of using google

I have developed this specific skill at college when it comes to doing assignments of topics I need to research to get information and searching
on their student portal of completing activities or related to courseworks and exams.

Ability to download files from the internet and transfer to WP

The requirements I have for this skill are:


● Having the ability to download files from the internet browser, such as google
● Knowing how to transfer files through emails on the web browser
● Having the potential of knowing how to use download past exam papers and filling in application forms that I have downloaded from the
web

I have developed this skill from college, which will give me the opportunity to progress further on this skill on my chosen career, if I need to
download any files that are essential and I will be able to improve on this skill of learning new things, as I have experience on it.

Ability to use a search engine e.g. Altavista, Google

The skills that are demanded for this area of what I am experienced on is:
● Able to use google of searching and finding out useful information that needs to be researched thoroughly read to make sure it’s accurate
data
● Having the ability to use search engines for researching on looking on jobs that are available and viewing online shops
● Knowing how to research coursework, by using google on information that is valuable to have

These ranges of skills that I have experience on is at college when I do assignments for researching different information, depending what topic
needs to be found out.

I have evidence on this particular skill where I’m experienced which is:
● Having the potential of coming up with new ideas that might be helpful, whilst working in a team or doing group work
● Having the ability to come up with new solutions to overcome a negative impact on what the topic is based about
● Having the ability to set up new goals long-term and short-term on how to accomplish them and reach towards that objective

I have developed this skill at college of being able to have the opportunity to work in a group of teams on generating new ideas and positive
solutions and able to produce goals for myself of what I would like to achieve in the future and progress it further ahead.

Organisation and Planning - ​Ability to set down a systematic sequence of activities and carry them through in an effective manner

The skills where I am experienced for this certain area is:


● Being able to be qualified of carrying out activities in a suitable manner
● Knowing everything should be prioritised accurately
● Having the ability to write down a plan of what study I have been doing, such as doing revision

I have some experience on this at college and that I do in my own time of writing a plan of what I have done throughout the day and what
revision helps me to revise on. I am capable of being organised and prioritise things at college, so I know what I am doing of what is expected
from me to become prepared.

The skills I require for this area in topic are:


● Having the capability of being able to collect information and establish certain areas of what is accurate or inaccurate

I have experienced this specific skill at college, of researching different Universities to go to on the course I would like to study and on
assignments able to state information of what is an advantage and a disadvantage on a topic I will be doing to get information from.

The skills I require based on analysis are:


● Having the potential and ability of understanding and reviewing information from other individuals, such as tutors
● Able to understand and write down any information that is essential to know
● Able to summarise any type of information be given to me. For an example, this could be mentioned in doing group work or meetings

I have been experienced on these various type of skills at college, of having an understanding from tutors in lessons and taking information down
because it will be essential to know and could be useful.

The skills I have experience on are:

● Able to act skillfully of having a sharp and creative mindset to initiate plans

I have experience on these different ranges of skills based on this area at college, which can help and give me a broader knowledge on how to
become more responsible of taking actions and able to initiate and establish them, as it will be very essential to have in the future for my chosen

I have developed all of these different skills at college because I have done my CV their, where it’s been kept up to date and accurate and in one

● Knowing how to defend myself in arguments of using different types of logic on how to solve the situation with proof of evidence

I am capable of doing these different skills because I have done them at college and at school, where we will be in a group and have individuals
that are for and against. If I was against, I would have the experience on how to argue of defending myself and making sure there is proof of
evidence for this.

I have some experience on this particular skill of the requirements I am skilful at on being able to get feedback and overcome it in a positive way

I have experience on this specific area at college because when I get assignments, I make sure I complete it all on time before it’s due and that
it’s accurately done properly. Able to make sure it’s all completed to hand in and prioritising my time carefully to ensure enough effort has been
put into it.

need. For an example, assignments I might need to get sources of information from articles and books, so I am able to complete that topic of

The experience I have on this certain topic are:


● Having the potential of taking and writing notes down that are very essential and important to know
● Knowing how to prioritise them and resolve them further on with other different types of sources of information, as they are particular
tasks that needs to be finished and making sure it’s organised within the time

The skills I have developed from this area is at college, of being able to prioritise myself of organising time to finish all tasks off before the
deadline date and able to receive different sources of information that will be useful for the assignments and looking back at the notes that have
been written down of what's important.

The different skills I have for this area is:


● Having the ability to be able to use harvard referencing, where I have experienced this at college
● Able to use a timetable of where I can organise assignments or tasks to become more prepared for exams

I have some experience on this particular skill on knowing how to reference websites of using harvard referencing and organising assignments to
get prepare for exams, so I know what will be expected and what needs to be learnt. But I would like to develop this skill further ahead of
learning different ranges of opportunities that are available and will be in use effectively.
