Tampa Bay Lightning: Media Notes
LAST GAME
Tampa Bay lost for the first time since April 20 to drop Game 2 of the ECF to the Boston Bruins, who tied the series at one game
apiece. Adam Hall put the Bolts up 1-0 just 13 seconds into the game and took a 2-1 lead into the intermission after Boston's Nathan
Horton tied it at 1 and Martin St. Louis regained the Lightning lead in the closing seconds of the period. The Bruins scored five goals in
the second period, including two each from Tyler Seguin and Michael Ryder, to go up 6-3 into the final frame. Goals by Steven Stamkos
and Dominic Moore rallied the Bolts to within one, but it wasn't enough as the team's postseason record-tying eight-game win streak
came to an end.

points, which was the second-highest total in franchise history after the 2003-04 Stanley Cup championship team had 106. The best
seasons in franchise history, categorized by points, are outlined below:

Special Special Teams...

The Lightning come into tonight with the third-ranked PP in the postseason at 25.9% (1st among teams still active in postseason play)
after converting 14 of 54 opportunities. Its 14 PPGs lead all postseason teams. Its five opposing PPGs allowed thus far in the
postseason are the fewest among any club still active in postseason play, as the Bolts enter tonight with the second-ranked PK unit in
the postseason at 92.2% (also 1st among teams still active in postseason play), despite facing the most shorthanded situations of all
playoff teams with 64.

Striking First...
The Lightning are 8-1-0 when scoring the game's first goal, which accounts for the most wins among all playoff teams when scoring
first. The Bolts have lit the lamp first in all but four of their 13 games thus far in the 2011 playoffs. They enter tonight having scored the
first goal of the game in seven consecutive contests, in which they have a 6-1-0 record in that span.

Oh Captain, My Captain...
With a four-point game (1g-3a-4p) in Game 2 on Tuesday, Vincent Lecavalier set a new franchise postseason record for most points in
a single playoff game and tied a franchise playoff mark for most assists in a single playoff contest as well. In the process, he surpassed
Brad Richards for second place on the team's all-time playoff scoring list. He comes into tonight with points in five of his past six games,
recording four goals and 10 points in that span and has recorded at least a point in all but three of his 13 total games played in the 2011
postseason.

Golden Goaltenders...
Dwayne Roloson and Tim Thomas enter tonight as two of the postseason's hottest goaltenders. They have put up similar numbers to
date in the 2011 playoffs, with postseason rankings denoted in parentheses (minimum 400 minutes played):

Wins Saves SA GA GAA SV% SO

Roloson 9 (2nd) 418 (2nd) 449 (3rd) 31 (8th) 2.37 (6th) .931 (2nd) 1 (3rd)
Thomas 9 (3rd) 419 (1st) 452 (2nd) 33 (11th) 2.39 (7th) .927 (3rd) 0 (9th)

Outshot? No Problem...
Tampa Bay has been outshot in 10 of its 13 games thus far in the 2011 playoffs and is just one of two teams among those still active in
the postseason (BOS) with a negative shot differential (369 SF - 458 SA = -89). It hasn't stopped the Lightning however, as they have a
7-2-1 record in postseason play when outshot by their opponent, which ties BOS for the most wins among all playoff teams when
recording fewer shots than the opposition.
Goals Galore...
Tampa Bay has scored 48 goals in the postseason, which is the most among all teams in the 2011 playoffs. The Lightning's 17 goals
scored at home are third-most among teams remaining in the postseason behind BOS (25) and VAN (23), while their four power-play
goals at home are also tied with BOS for the second-most among teams still active in the postseason behind VAN (5). Since and
including Game 5 of the ECQF, Tampa Bay has scored three or more goals in each of its games except one. It leads all teams in the
postseason with an average of 3.69 goals per game.

The Block Is Hot...

The Lightning boast four of the league's top six shot blockers in the postseason. Eric Brewer leads all skaters in the 2011 playoffs with
43, while Mattias Ohlund comes in second with 40 and victor Hedman is third with 39. Marc Vlasic and Douglas Murray of the Sharks
rank fourth and fifth, respectively, with 38 and 37. They are followed by Lightning defenseman Brett Clark (35). The Lightning rank
second as well among all teams in the postseason in team blocked shots with 267, behind SJS (274), including 106 at home.

The Heim-lich Maneuver...

Sean Bergenheim comes into tonight with the postseason lead in goals with eight. According to Stats Inc., Bergenheim ranks towards
the top among individuals since 2000-01 with the most goals in a single postseason who scored just 15 goals or fewer during the
regular campaign:

Tampa Bay Lightning: Head Coach and Player Bios
Head Coach: Guy Boucher
Guy Boucher was named the seventh head coach in Tampa Bay Lightning history on June 10, 2010. Boucher, 39, became the youngest coach
in the NHL after quickly building a track record of success in the QMJHL and the AHL.
He was honored with the AHL’s Louis A. R. Pieri Award as its Coach of the Year following the 2009-10 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, for
which he was named head coach after leading the Drummondville Voltigeurs for three seasons. Boucher led Drummondville to QMJHL regular
season and playoff championships and a berth in the Memorial Cup in 2008-09. He was also awarded the Paul Dumont Trophy as the QMJHL’s
Personality of the Year for 2008-09.
Boucher also has extensive experience working for Hockey Canada, serving as assistant coach under Pat Quinn on the Gold Medal-winning
team for the 2009 IIHF's World Junior Championship. He was an assistant coach with Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team program three
times, also helping that team to the Gold Medal in 2008.
