Exceeds Expectations - In Spring 2018 distance courses - Exceeds benchmarks such as:
Participates in more than 2/3 of discussion boards; exceptional quality of discussion
board engagement and/or summary posts.
Meets Expectations - In Spring 2018 distances courses - Participates in 2/3 of
discussion boards; Engage in activities that promote student/instructor interaction,
acknowledge responses from students; Intervene in discussion boards when it is still in
progress to ask a follow-up or clarifying question. Ask engaging/thought provoking
questions or extend the student’s thinking about a topic. Save a discussion board that
may be “de-railed”; Provide bridge videos weekly that focus on content, not just the
upcoming assignments. These videos should include a personal touch to include your
face, not just content on a screen. They should reveal to the student why their
learning matters and how it is important in their role as nurses; Provide a summary
announcement at the end of each week, personalizing it with the recaps, the weeks’ SQP Goal: Strengthen Our
Tamarah Pearson Engagement in Distance Education discussion or assignments to facilitate the learning of course outcomes. Culture and Capabilities 20%
