ISSUE Pull ETC FF:

Some 2005-2007 Freestyle, Five Hundred and NOTE
Montego vehicles may exhibit intermittent wrench
VCM (IDS/PDS) MUST BE UPDATED TO
light on and/or “ETC-failsafe mode” in the message

PCM/TCM/IC MODULES, DO NOT CONTINUE
WITH THIS TSB. PERFORM NORMAL DIAGNOSIS 7. On the IDS screen and next to the line IPC

2. Check for main engine harness to PCM
(12B637 - Engineering / 12A581 - Service) rub a. Yes - fault identified, follow recommendation
through on the A/C line and on the back right below based on the IDS Repair Direction
of engine compartment. If rub through is found, Results window response. No further
repair wires in harness. analysis is needed.

3. Pull electronic throttle control (ETC) freeze b. No - go to Step 8.
