DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ART (Rewritten)

GRADE 4

I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the class will be able to:
A. Determine the difference of textures in 2D and 3D art forms
B. Appreciate the relief printing by relating it to its texture
C. Create an artwork that shows the different kinds of texture.

II. Subject matter


Main concept : Relief Printing
Sub – concept : Texture (Actual and Visual texture)
Materials:
 Bar of Clay
 Acrylic or Poster Paint
 Paintbrush
 Newspaper
 Apron or Extra Shirt
 Oslo Paper

1. Motivation

Mystery Box

Direction: The pupil will be blindfolded and guess


the object based on its texture.

Objects:

 Cotton
 Sand paper
 Slime

What did you feel when you touched it?(cotton) Teacher, it’s soft and fluffy.

That’s right! What is this object?


It’s cotton!
Correct! Next object. Teacher, it’s rough.

Does it have the same texture with the first one?


It’s sand paper!
(sand paper)

Good job! What is this object? Teacher, it’s gooey and slimy.

Correct! Next object.

What did you feel when you touched it? (slime)


It’s slime!
Good! What is this object?

Correct! Very good, gr.4 pupils!


2. Developmental Activities

a. Lesson Proper

(The teacher will post some words on the board


then the pupil will match it to its definition.)

b. Generalization

We’ll have an activity! And we’ll call it “Smooth


or Rough”

We have two chairs in the front with Smooth and


Rough, now I will flash pictures and you’ll
determine whether it is rough or smooth, how? By
forming a line behind these chairs. If you think its
is rough then form a line in rough the same if it is
smooth. The one who’ll be in the wrong line will be
out of the game, until there is left. ( Pupils will form a line base on
their answer in every picture)
(The teacher will flash pictures)

c. Application (Pupils group themselves


quietly)
Now class group yourselves into 5 groups quietly.

Bring out your materials and then listen to my


instructions. You will make your own seal that will
represent your group. Using clay, you will mold it
into round then flatten it and then the design will be
(Pupil listen)
on your own.

(teacher show his work as an example)

Then after you will paint your seal and stamp it


gently on your Oslo Paper and then I will call 1
representative to explain your work. I will give only
10 minutes to finish all the works. Your timer starts
now.
(Pupil starts to mold the clay and
put designs)
(After 10 minutes)

Now everyone, Representatives please come here (Pupil explain)


in front and explain your work.

Excellent! Let’s give them a round of applause.


Another representative please.
(The teacher will continue calling group
representative until all group has presented their
work.)

Very Good Grade 4! Let’s now have a short quiz.
