1.1 Installation

1.1.1 Update …
Are you using already the NRT-V application and do you want to update to a newer version, please remove the current
version first from your computer before adding the new version.
1.1.2 ... from hard drive
Browse into the subdirectory NRT_V and call SETUP.EXE. The rest of the installation is self-explanatory.

Release 2.0
1.5 Enhancements since 1.72
 Change in firmware update of power sensor software. The update software is a separately installed tool
NRTZUpdate.exe, not longer integrated in the Virtual NRT. It is strongly recommended to use
NRTZUpdate.exe first before running “Virtual NRT”, otherwise the update may fail. In this case please
reboot your PC and try the update again.
Previous versions of NRT-V provided a function to update the firmware of the sensor. In certain combinations of operating system and interface
port this led to problems with unfinishedor not starting update procedures. Therefore we decided to separate the firmware update function from
the measurement program.
If you want to perform a firmware update please use the program NRTZUpdate.exe. This program should not be used if you already had
activated the NRT-V software after booting your computer. The reason is that the NRT-V software could have locked your computer’s serial
port(s), making it impossible for the NRTZUpdate program to connect to a sensor successfully. Making a long story short: if you want to
update the sensor firmware do it after a (re-)boot of your computer before eventually starting NRT-V.
 Virtual NRT supports now more than 8 RS232 serial interfaces.

1.6 Enhancements since 1.71

Bugfix in NRT-Z14/Z43/Z44 power sensor software: Corrected communications protocol, corresponding mainly
communications between sensor and base unit.
1.7 Enhancements since 1.70
Bugfix in NRT-Z43/Z44 power sensor software, reduction of temperature drift of CCDF threshold

1.8.1 Enhancements
 Added the software binary of the new measurement head NRT-Z14
 The NRT-Z14 power sensor is enhanced by TETRA modulation measurement in firmware versions 1.70. The
NRT_V release 1.70 reflects this enhancement by an added TETRA modulation menu item.

1.9 Enhancements since 1.60

Bugfix in NRT-Z43/44 power sensor software after activating EDGE modulation and afterwards measurement of PEP
or CF
1.10 Enhancements since 1.50
The NRT-Z43/44 power sensors are enhanced by EDGE modulation measurement in firmware versions 1.60. The
NRT_V release 1.60 reflects this enhancement by an added EDGE modulation menu item.

1.11 Enhancements since 1.44

1.11.1 Bug fixes

Error description:

 If running under WIN95 for more than 2 hours continuously Virtual NRT has caused a system crash.
 The performance of Virtual NRT has been extremely bad.

1.11.2 Enhancements
 The new features of 1.40 firmware revision for NRT-Z43 / 44 are supported.
 Improved design.
 Direct communication panel runs smoother and more secure.
 Auto - connection and com port scanning sequences run faster and more secure now.
 RFR measurement function has been added.

The sensor's calibration data can be read and restored.
New sensor firmware can be loaded.
The user interface has got a lot of improvements and facelifts.
The auto scaler of the scope window is improved.
A COM port and baud rate scanner has been built in.

2 Release 1.43
2.1 Enhancements since former versions
The HELP->HELP popup window is replaced by a more extensive windows help file.
The interruption of block outputs as OPTIONS->HEAD SELFTEST has been improved and will not cause the
message "Port not open !" any longer.
With activated measurement function BURST AUTO and BURST USER, two lines per measurement were created in
the protocol file instead of one:
