Research Experience

Laboratory techniques
Trained in a variety of techniques including retrosynthetic analysis, organic synthesis,
product characterisation and kinetic analysis by UV and HPLC

Computing
Scientific software including Scifinder, Beilstein, Chemdraw, Isisdraw and Kaleidagraph.
Extensive experience of Microsoft Office, IMacs, and interest in webpage design coupled
with sound knowledge of graphics packages which have assisted in the construction of
Department of Chemistry webpages

Communication and Presentation


Developed networking, presentation and interpersonal skills through attendance at
conferences and symposia. Enjoy involvement in active research group collaborating within
the department and wider research community to communicate scientific opinions

multidisciplinary project team and gaining insights into the practical applications of
research in the pharmaceutical industry
