1. Summary
ADV5051 Line Tester is the common line tester which is
designed as the dumbbell shape. With its shape and strong
shell material, it it he good helper for field testing.

Press it to pick up the phone, or enter into the
testing state.
Loose it to hang up the phone.

4. Operation
4.1 Telephone
Link the testing clamp into normal telephone line directly or
through assistance testing cord. The tester can dial and talk
same as the common telephone.

4.2 Calling

Press Button HOOK, the Hook indicator light on the faceplate

will be bright.
After there is dialing voice from the receiver, dial telephone
number to call others.
After talk, press button HOOK to finish it.

4.3 Receive calling

After tester rings, press button HOOK to pick up the phone
and talk. After the talk is finished press button HOOK to hook
up.

4.4 Redial
When the line is busy, hang up the phone and pick it up again,
press REDIA button, the tester will redial the last number.

4.5 Mute
When talking to others, press MUTEbutton and the caller voice
cannot be heard.

4.6 T/P switch

Press button to realize the switch between tone and

pulse dialing modes.

5. Notice
Make sure that the tester is hung up before you clamp the

test line. During the test, if the Hook indicator light is not
on please take off clamps quickly and take care. Then
please check whether the fuse is melted or not. If it is, it
means there is dangerous voltage. Please replace the
0.3A fuse tube with a good one.
Please loose all the buttons when the tester is not in use.

6. Accessories

6.1 Main test cord

The main test cord is the soft test cord with clamp and switch
box. It can realize different kinds of plug connection with
switch box while realize different kinds of telephone line test
with clamp.

6.2 RJ11 cord

It can be inserted into distribution frame or some user ’s plug
in the wall through switch box.

6.3 0.3A fuse tube

Protect the tester from high voltage/heavy current.
