Criminals MUST Be Taken Off The Street

Cannizzaro endorses Homeowner, Taxpayer Bill of Rights 9

continued from page 1

Asked why he endorsed the Bill of Rights the DA said

it was a “common sense pledge that more of New Orleans’
city and civic leaders should endorse.”

Cannizzaro then continued: “The hard-working, law-abid-

ing citizens of our city deserve better representation of their
values and interests.”

This raises the question: Are our political leaders repre-

senting the interests of hard working restaurant or hospital workers
when they tell us that a person with a long criminal record who was
just arrested for rape should be freed without bail?

Is this good for restaurant workers or hospital employees?

Indeed, is it good for anyone, and is it good for our city?

The DA said it wasn’t. He explained that viewing criminals

as “victims” who are bullied by police and prosecutors is just plain
wrong. Those individuals would never have to deal with police and DA Cannizzaro signs the Homeowner and Taxpayer Bill of Rights
prosecutors if they would just stop committing crimes.

The DA further said that policies that paint violent

offenders as victims also “disregards the trauma and loss
