I am a Fashion Management (BA Hons) student at Nottingham

Employment
Part time: River Island, Marble Arch, London: Nov ‘13 – Dec ‘16
Team member – Main roles were customer service and till work. Visual merchandising with the footwear and
accessories departments. I have had opportunities where I became a team leader and was put in a position of
responsibility. I managed a small group of staff, taking the supervisors role, ensuring that all tasks (such as
replenishment and recovery) were complete and targets were met before closing. Here I gained leadership
skills and time-keeping.
Summer Temp: Monsoon, Marble Arch, London: 3 weeks, July ‘14
During the busy summer sale period, my role was to ensure that as much stock as possible was out of the
fitting rooms and onto the shop floor, in order to meet customer demand. Ticketing sale items was also a key
task. I did adapt very quickly to the new environment, learning new people and communication skills.

Work Experience
BBC Head Office, London: 1 week, July ‘14
Here I was an intern on BBC’s international advertising department. My role was to gather information on the
advertising used on BBC’s competitors’ websites to use as primary market research. These ideas were then
presented to my supervisor. Organisation was a part of my role at BBC; I was set tasks to organise meetings
and ensure the timetabling was correct. The skills learned at BBC was organisation and market research.

Westminster City Hall, London: Jan – April ‘12


Westminster city hall is where all the events for the borough were organized, and I was an intern in the
marketing department. My job was to put idea together for leaflets and flyers in order to create an advertising
campaign for the winter/spring events. These ideas were used in the final production. This included doing
primary research to find out what competitors and other companies were doing for their marketing
campaigns. Here I learned about marketing and competitive research.

Volunteer Work
Oxfam, London: Sept – Dec ‘11
Here I gained my first retail work experience. I learned how to give out customer service by greeting
customers and assisting them around the store. I also gained insight on how to use tills and also had a hands on
experience in visual merchandising.

 Have taken the initiative to be a part of a number of creative workshops including t-shirt design,

 Modelled in and was a part of the production of a Black History Month fashion show
