October 23 

DO NOW: 
● America and Great Britain 
● The taxes, and the way they are forced to pay them if they didn’t. As well as the control by the British soldiers   
(i’m not sure ;-;)

October 24 
DO NOW 
1. Soldiers turned their backs against the generals 
2. Leaders of the revolution didn’t trust the mobs of the poor but needed help to defeat Britain. 
 
PARAPHRASE 
● The continental congress is made up of only rich men 
● They made sure officers were paid all the time 
● Many soldiers weren’t paid at all 
● There were mutinies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.They were severely punished by Washington 
● Loyalists were people who support Britain and their properties and power were seized by their friends and revolutionary 
leaders

● During the war, the lower class and the rich colonial leaders because most of the lower class were forced by 
impressment. 
● The Native Americans

PARAPHRASE DOC A 
● Initially, the British and the Indians were enemies. 
● After the seven years war,Indians had attacked British forts and the British responded by biological warfare 
● After a peace agreement in 1763, Indians fought on the side of Britain because they were given land on the west 
side of the Appalachian mountain  
● However, after the Americans won the war, they took the Indian land and killed those who fought back.

● During the war The blacks fought on both sides 
● Most served for the British because they took the offer of freedom and equality 
● The revolution encouraged some blacks to demand more from the white community 
● For example, In Massachusetts, 7 Blacks asked for the right to vote 
● After the war, slavery ended slowly in the North but the South grew more and more from cotton plantations and
