About Korea’s weather

Korea is located geographically in the mid-latitude temperate climatic zone, and the four seasons
of spring, summer, autumn and winter are distinct.

In winter, it is cold and dry due to the cold dry continental high pressure. In summer, it is hot and
humid due to the high temperature and high humidity of the North Pacific. In spring and autumn,
there are many sunny days due to high mobile pressure.

Precipitation

The annual precipitation is 1200 ~ 1500mm in the central region and 1000 ~ 1800mm in the
southern region. Gyeongbuk area is about 1000 ~ 1300mm, some parts of Gyeongnam coast are
about 1800mm, and Jejudo area is about 1500 ~ 1900mm. Seasonally, 50 to 60% of annual
precipitation falls in summer.
