Education is not a preparation for life, education is life itself- John Dewey

Education is a lifetime process with no true beginning or ending. Education consists of experience,
environment, socialization and communication. John Dewey assumed that "all genuine education comes
through experience." I agree and believe that education does not start and end in a classroom. The
education that we actually receive is the sum of experience that we let ourselves to be exposed to. It is the
duty of an educator to inspire his students and enhance that desire to learn by the classroom environment
that he creates. I believe that learning is the process which a person acquires knowledge through both
instruction and teaching. Thus education is power and knowledge is essential. Through education anyone
can accomplish anything in life.
Education is the foundation upon which we build our future.
If we want education to give a solid foundation for a successful future, then it should stress more on
understanding and less on learning. As Butler said, “Learning is in too many cases, but a foil to common
sense; a poor substitute for true knowledge. Learning and education are two different things. Learning is a
luxury; education a necessity. For a better future, we need an education that will give students the freedom
to think and speak, the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them, the freedom to dissent and discuss.
Only then will education play its meaningful role in providing a better future to all.
Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.
As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Education is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating a sustainable
planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace. And in a knowledge economy,
education is the new currency by which nations maintain economic competitiveness and global prosperity.
Education is the foundation of peace and prosperity. I can’t imagine a better world without a global
commitment to providing better education for women and youth and I urge all of us to reinvigorate our
efforts to accelerate progress in improving access, quality and student achievement worldwide.
Poverty is the worst form of violence. - Mahatma Gandhi
Poverty does not mean deficiency of food or money which of course is the basic level. There is much severe
violence when the poverty of mind or intelligence is active and such poverty starts not from economical
people generally but evil minded people. In most of the cases poverty is inflicted on people by fellow human
beings. People who do not care about others' poverty are really inhuman violators of humanity. War is the
main violent act which causes poverty than anything else.
If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one. – Mother Teresa
For me this quote means that we can change the world in our own little way. As a student I can’t help a
hundred but I can help someone in need. In life, big things begin with small things.
The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved. – Mother Teresa
There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being
unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this
kind of poverty. We should spend much time talking with our family rather than using gadgets when they
are around. We should spend get together with friends and colleague rather than spending time talking to
them via skype or messenger.
The Science of today is the technology of tomorrow- Edward Teller
Science and technology play an ever-increasing role in our lives and have made a key contribution to the
transformation of societies. The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people
to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things
they didn’t think they could learn before, and so in a sense, it is all about potential.

Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master.

"It is not what technolog y does to us, it is what we do to technolog y. Get sm art
with technology, chose wisely and use it in a wa y that benef its both you and
those around you" The dem and f or parents to stay inf orm ed and aware is
becom ing critical. Mak e sure to Increase your understanding about the
technology and social networks your k ids are using and remem ber to stay open
to discussion. Asking a child to stop using technology devices is not possible
and will not help. The impact of technology and social network on c hildren can
be beneficial if parents understand that it is possible to maintain control by being
involved in our children’s lives. As a student we should not let technology
overpower our well- being. W e should learn to use technology and used it for
our own advancement and progress.
Technology should improve your life, not become your life.
Excess of everything is bad, however taking advantage of advance technology is not bad, till the time we
are using it in limits. However, the curiosity is not there, the excitement to know something new something
different is no there. The happiness to get acknowledged is now valued in different parameters. We should
learn to manage our time in using technology and spending time with the people around. Let technology be
our tool for advancement.
The best gadget is the human brain
The human brain is a communication system which is composed of neurons- cells which are interconnected
to communicate message from on point to another in the body. Most of these messages are generated
from external stimuli we daily experience. Our brain is the best gadget for me because it regulates internal
processes which are most often involuntary such as heart beat, dilation of pupil, involuntary contraction of
muscles, voluntary contraction of muscle as in smooth muscle contraction such as in the process of
peristaltic movement.
Winners never quit, quitters never win
Vince Lombardi, a famous American football coach, once said, “A quitter never wins and a winner never
quits”. We have heard of this saying at least once in our lives. And we all have had the opportunity to apply
the saying to a part of our lives, be it in a sports team, in academics, at work or even at relationships.
A winner is someone who is determined to reach his goals, no matter how arduous the journey may be. A
winner is ready to face challenges and obstacles that may come in between him and his goals. On the other
hand, a quitter gets perturbed by challenges, and in the midst, gives up. Because he is not determined to
face the difficulties, he never reaches his goal and is declared quitter.
Start unknown, finish unforgettable
I joined this competition because I can. Because when I do, there’s always the chance to be extraordinary.
A chance to start unknown and to finish unforgettable. A chance to overcome all obstacles, to fight through
pain and suffering to test your emotional limits and boundaries, to experiment with the potential of the
human body and discover just how far you can push yourself.
Sports reveal character
I definitely agree with this statement. When you participate in a sport, you learn a lot about attitude and
teamwork. Individuals will experience winning, losing, working with others, handling themselves when
others push them to their limits and many more skills. Athletes have some standards to maintain a
courteous, but powerful character. Sports are a place where things are revealed, particularly our
character. Lastly, Sports give this controlled environment where character can be rebuilt once revealed.
Things can be tried and, once learned more easily in that “safer” atmosphere, applied in other more chaotic
realms of life.

Pulling someone down will never help you reach the top
"Some people won't be happy until they've pushed you to the ground. What you have to do is have the
courage to stand your ground and not give them the time of day. This is a manifestation of crab mentality,
a way of thinking that if I can’t have it, neither can you. The analogy in human behavior is that members of
a group will attempt to "pull down" any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of envy,
conspiracy or competitive feelings. Thus, hold on to your power and never give it away. You need to stand
for yourself because nobody can help you stop the bullies and at the end stop bullying.
If people throw stones at you, then pick them up and build something.
When people throw you stones it’s because you are a good tree full of fruits. They see a lot of harvest in
you. Don’t go down to their level by throwing them back the stones, but throw them your fruits so the seeds
of yourself may inspire them to change their ways. The stones that others hurl on you can be used to hurt
you and can bury you alive if you allow them to. However, we have a choice to take the stones which are
thrown at us and build a castle or a monument.
You can never look good trying to make someone else look bad.
Making stories with other people’s lives so that your reputation will look pretty good is a big no. If you hate
other people confront them, be frank and never tell tall tales about them, it can never benefit you if other
people will soon be able to find the truth. Remember, blowing out someone else’s candle won’t make yours
shine brighter. If you have an issue with someone, tell them, if not keep it to yourself. Being negative is a
waste of energy. You’ll never look good trying to make someone else look bad.
Depression is the inability to construct a future.
Depression is a hibernation response we inherited from lower animals, we are not concerned with the future
in this state of mind, depression is triggered by and mixed with anxiety which can make us fearful of the
future. It makes you not care about now or tomorrow. A typical thought would be something like: "Why think
or plan about the future; we're all going to die anyway." Sometimes just making it through the day is the
best you can do. Long-term goals? They might be thoughts, but a depressed person has little ability actually
get started on those goals. However, there are numerous resources to help with depression. You have to
want to feel better. Get up and never let depression deprived you from hoping for a bright future ahead of
you.
All stories have an end.
It’s painful to walk away from what we hold most dear; especially when we invested an immeasurable amount
of time, energy and heart into something. There were a number of things that played a role in why we ended
up in the situation we’re in. But at the end of the day, we had two options: Let it go or let it drag. Every story
should have an end, because if we keep dragging it, it will get uninteresting. Indeed, some things are
beautiful only for a certain amount of time.
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
In the first part of the quote, the darkest night represents an awful experience that an individual is
undergoing. The sun will rise indicates that the hardship the individual is facing will soon go away and a
better day will come. This hopeful quote encourages us to rise up when we are facing a dark moment of
our lives. Misfortunes, sorrows, and sadness exists in order for us to appreciate when we are at peace. We
understand how beautiful life really is in the absence of these things. The experiences we go through
sometime have permanent impact on our lives but often times are temporary. When we undergo these
challenges we tend to have a negative, doubtful, hopeless attitude or feeling. However, we need to realize
that feelings and emotions are temporary. The way we feel about a particular issue today may not be what
we feel the day after. Unpleasant feelings and emotions go away with time as long as you allow it. Be
hopeful that tomorrow will be a better day and should not dwell on the hardship we are currently
experiencing.
Be a part of the solution, not part of the pollution.
Breathing is life. We know that we can survive without food for several weeks and without water for few
days, but without oxygen, we will die in a matter of minutes. If you don't take direct action to make things
better you're an obstacle to change. As we all know Pollution is one of the worst problems in the world. The
presence of environmental pollution raises the issue of pollution control. Great efforts are made to limit the
release of harmful substances into the environment through air pollution control, wastewater
treatment, solid-waste management, hazardous-waste management, and recycling. As a student we can
be a part of solution to pollution by doing these activities: Conserve energy – remember to turn off lights,
computers, and electric appliances when not in use. Use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances.
Participate in your local utility’s energy conservation programs.
In nature, nothing exists alone.
Ecological balance is a term used to describe the equilibrium between living organisms such as human
being, plants, and animals as well as their environment. Photosynthesis that takes place in ecosystem
contributes to building a good environment that stabilizes the coexistence of all organisms. Harmonious
relationships reflect healthy and desirable ecological balance. Human being plays a key role to maintain
ecological balance because they have the highest thinking capacity as compared to other living organisms.
Sufficient food availability to all living organisms and their stability reflect the existence of ecological
balance. Therefore, this balance is very important because it ensures survival, existence and stability of the
environment.
