PREFACE

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Program is one of the

most reputed professional courses in the field of management. This

course includes both theory and its Applications as per contents of

its curriculum. Industrial Training is an integral part of Master of

Business Administration program of BBS INSTITUTE OF

MANAGEMENT STUDIES,. It gives exposure to our practical

knowledge and also to interact with the various aspects of present

market conditions. Each student is required to undergo practical

training in an industrial organization after the completion of second

semester examination.

The summer training programmers are designed to give the

managers the future of the corporate happenings and work culture.

The real life situation is really different from the stimulated exercise

enacted in an artificial environment inside. The summer training

programmers are designed, so that the managers or tomorrow do

not feel when the time comes to take responsibilities.

I have tried my best to arrange my work in a systematic and

chronological way. However to cover detailed information of the

organization in such a short period was impossible. Despite the

7
inherent shortcomings of the study, a genuine attempt was made on

my part to see that the study was carried out in the right respective.

The successful completion of this project was a unique experience

for me because by visiting many places and interacting various

persons, I achieved a better knowledge about sales. The experience

which I gained by doing this project was essential at this turning point

of my career. This project is being submitted which content detailed

analysis of the research under taken by me.

The Training project provides an opportunity to the student to devote

his/her skills knowledge and competencies required during the

technical session.

Training is a period where a student can apply his theoretical

knowledge on practical field. Primarily practical knowledge and

theoretical knowledge have a very vast difference. Therefore, this

training has high importance as to know how both the aspects can be

applied together.

The study of management acquires most crucial position in the

business administration. In order to be successful, it is necessary to

give priority to the management in an organization.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
14
India’s economy is highly developing. The development is taken

place due to the growth in the financial system. This financial system

provides the background to various investors regarding varied

options to invest. Thus, development of the economy depends on

how these investors invest for the well being in long run.

As financial markets become more sophisticated and complex,

investors need a financial intermediary who provides the required

knowledge and professional expertise on successful investing. Share

market represents perhaps the most appropriate investment

opportunity for investors.

For most people, money is a delicate matter and when it comes to

investing they are wary. Simply because there are many investment

options out there, each out promising the other. An important

question facing many investors is whether to invest in Banks,

National Savings, Post office, Non-banking finance companies, fixed

deposits etc. or to invest distinctively in share market.

It has been perceived that there is huge potential market in the

region of Banda. Thus an exploratory research with the hypothesis

“The region of Banda being progressively industrializing &

15
developing should provide a large & wider market share for share

market” has been done.

Thus the purpose of this research was to find why people do not

actively invest in share market in spite of various benefits like

Professional management, Diversification, Convenience liquidity,

Flexibility etc. as well as to find out potential of business of Angel

broking in investment of share market in Banda City.

After performing the detailed exploratory research by interviewing

different persons who act as investment advisor like Insurance

advisor and Post office advisor etc. with the help of questionnaire,

certain facts were revealed regarding the view about share market in

the mind of investors.

I have observed that approximately 60% of the people are unaware

of share market but most of them are interested to know about share

market and ready to attend seminar arranged by Angel broking. They

are also interested to work with Angel if sufficient information is

provided to them about share market and Angel.

People from service class prefers safety of income plus the regular

income as well as tax benefits while on the other hand Professional

and Businessman focus on high return with some risk.

16
For growth and development of the share market, the misconception

regarding share market should be removed & the awareness for the

same should be made.

FUTURE MARKETS: Future markets are efficient price discovery

platforms which enable producers and users of goods and services

to take an informed perspective about likely future prices. They are

the meeting places of buyers and sellers of an ever-expanding list of

commodities that today include agricultural products, metals, and

now energy products. In simple language, futures contracts are the

contracts that establish a price level now for the items to be delivered

later.

Notwithstanding the rapid growth and diversification of futures

market, their primary purpose remains the same as it has been for

nearly a century and half viz., to provide an efficient and effective

mechanism for the management of price risks. By buying or selling

futures contracts, individuals and businesses seek to achieve

insurance against adverse price changes.

MARGIN: Rather than providing a down payment, the margin required

to buy or sell a futures contract is solely a deposit of good faith

64
money that can be collected to cover losses that you may incur in the

course of futures trading. Minimum margin requirements For a

particular futures contract at a particular time are set by the

exchange on which the contract is traded. Exchanges continuously

monitor market conditions and risks, and as necessary, increase or

decrease the margin requirements.

COMMODITY EXCHANGE

• No counter party risks.

• Higher Leverage: Get high exposures for the margin provided.

• Prices are pegged to international markets of NYMEX, CBOT,

CME, LME etc.,

• Portfolio diversification: An investor can now diversify his

portfolio by investing in commodities markets.

• Arbitrage opportunities: Take the advantage of price spreads,

calendar spreads and Inter exchange spreads.

DEMAT SERVICES

65
Angel is a depository participant with the National Securities

Depository Limited (NSDL) for trading and settlement of

dematerialized shares.

Depository Participants (DPs) are described as an agent of the

depository. They are intermediaries between the depository and the

investors. The relationship between the DPs and the depository is

governed by an agreement made between the two under

Depositories Act.

A DP can offer depository-related services only after obtaining a

certificate of registration from SEBI.

Since Angel Broking is also in the broking business, investors who

use Angel’s depository services get a dual benefit. They can use

Angel’s brokerage services to execute transactions and Angel’s

depository services to settle them.

In order to systematically diversify the holding of clients across varied

sectors and with an intention to give them handsome returns, angel

devised the concept of the modern portfolio:

1. Angel came out with its first modern portfolio in august 2002.

2. Since then it has come out with modern portfolios which have

consistently outperformed the Sensex YOY.

3. In fact, the latest portfolio by angel has successfully

outperformed the Sensex by a whopping 80%.

Salient features of the PCG:

• The portfolio comprises fundamentally strong scrips.

• The ticker size of the portfolio is Rs. 5 lacs for residents and

Rs. 10 lacs for NRI’s.

67
Technical Research Services

Technical Analysis is a study of historical price charts along with

volumes which helps in predicting future price trends. Technical

Analysis takes into account all the factors which are responsible for

the stock price movement. It also takes into account the mass

psychology which plays an important role in the stock price

movement.

The Technical Patterns are based on the human element of greed,

fear & hope and work universally. Most of the patterns have been

working since centuries as they reflect the mindset of the masses. In

some countries viz. Japan & US, Technical Analysis has been

68
practiced for more than 100 years. In India it has started around 25

to 30 years back and of late it has become popular with a lot of

Investors & Traders using it to time the markets. We at Angel have

started using TA since early 2000, where it started with just one

Analyst. Today we have the largest team in the industry, which is

specialized in providing different products & services catering to the

different market participants & their needs.

FRAUD PREVENTION

PROTECT YOUR ONLINE BROKERAGE ACCOUNT: The Internet and, more

recently, wireless technology has made it easy for investors to check

brokerage account information and initiate investment transactions

on the go. Angel is issuing this Alert to warn investors to take

precautions to help ensure the security of their brokerage accounts.

Not doing so puts your account information and investments at risk.

Lock the Door behind You: It is very important to terminate each

online session when you are finished-usually by clicking the "Log out"

link on the site. This is the computer equivalent to locking the door

when you leave the house. If you merely type in another address or

close or MINIMIZES the Web browser window, it may be possible for

unauthorized users with access to the same computer to gain access

to your account information. Retrieving this information could be as

easy as clicking on the Internet browser icon, pressing the browser's

Back button, or calling up a browser's Internet History.

Guard the Front Door: Recently, a popular browser such as Microsoft

Internet Explorer has introduced a feature where the browser offers

to "remember" your usernames and passwords to secure web sites.

Think twice about using this feature as it may allow others who can

86
access your computer to log in to your brokerage or other online

account. Never allow the browser to remember user names and

passwords when using a public, shared computer.

OTHER TIPS

Here are a few other helpful hints to keep your information safe and secure:

• Avoid using any computer that is not your own to access your

brokerage or other online account

• Never share your password information with others

• Create passwords that are unpredictable and counterintuitive, and

don't use the same password for different accounts

• Change passwords regularly

• Beware of over-the-shoulder snoops when using public computers

• If you suspect that your password has been stolen or used by

others, notify us immediately.

• If you must use a public or borrowed computer, you can diminish

the risk somewhat if you clear all Temporary Internet Files and History from

the browser after you are finished (if you are using Microsoft Internet

Explorer, this is done by clicking the Tools menu, selecting Internet

Options, then selecting Delete Files from the Temporary Internet Files area

87
and Clear History from the History area). Note: You may not always have

the ability to delete this information from someone else's computer, and you

can't be certain if it contains spy ware or viruses

• Do not store passwords in a file on your PC or laptop—they are at

risk if your computer is serviced or stolen

• Read Account Statements carefully

• Finally, your account statements are the last line of defense. Be

sure to review your account information regularly. Many firms allow you to

do so online at any time. If there are transactions that look suspicious,

report them to us immediately

88
HOW DO I START THE

BUSINESS?

You need to fill up our account opening (KYC) forms for the

exchange you wish to trade on and attach the necessary documents

for infrequent investors, who fall into the "Buy and Hold" school of

investing, made very popular by Warren Buffet - the Oracle of

Omaha. A typical retail investor is a busy corporate executive or

99
businesspersons who makes equity investments for long term and

does not trade everyday. He prefers a trading interface, which works

behind proxy and firewalls as they access the Internet and the stock

markets from their work place, where a direct connection is difficult

because of corporate IT security policies. This product does not have

intra-day tick by charts.

We offer E-broking services and door to door service to investors for

a gamut of products ranging from Mutual Funds, GoI Securities to

Fixed Deposits and Insurance. While our strong base of offline

working. It is a statement of only the essential elements of a study,

those that provide the basic guidelines for the details of the project. It

comprises a series of prior decision that taken together provide

master plans for executing a research projects.

A research design serves as a bridge between what has been

established i.e., the research objectives and what is to be done, in

conduct of the study to relish those objectives. If there were no

RECOMMENDATIONS/SUGG

ESTION

• There is high potential market for share brokers in Banda city,

but this market needs to be explored as investors are still hesitated

to invest their money in share market.

• In Banda investors have inadequate knowledge about share

market, So proper Marketing of various schemes is required,

company should arranges more and more seminars on share

market.

• Awareness of share market services provided by ANGEL

BROKING is also very low so company needs proper marketing of

145
their all services by advertising, distribution of pamphlet, arranging

seminars etc.

• Most of investor are not interested in dealing of share because

they don’t want to expand their money in share market due to lack of

time, so company should provide them knowledge about online

service provided by Angel Broking by which investor can get all

financial services from one place.

• Company should also provide knowledge about the growth

rate and the expected growth rate of share industry in India.

• The interface among the investors and the share brokers is

necessary; due to this the investor can easily get proper knowledge

about share’s as well as market and share broker can easily help

investors in their investment decisions. The quality of Brokers

performance and investors trust on them can be improved only if

they are permanent in nature.

146
147
148
LIMITATIONS

• Due to limitation of time and cost constrains a sample size of

only 100 respondents are chosen?

• Data Analysis and interpretation done may not be that strong

due to small sample and ‘Convenience Sampling Method’.

• The sample extent for research is only BANDA City.

• Some of the respondents may be biased in giving responses.

• My inexperience in research area might have affected results.

149
150
Conclusion

151
Banda is a small city but many of the people are interested for

investing in share market. There are six share trading companies

who run smoothly in Banda City.

There are many people interested but some of their have no

knowledge and some people have knowledge but they could not be

convinced by other share trading companies. Some of the people

don’t want to face the risk and invest the money in insurance.

In Banda City, other Share Trading companies don’t focus on the

advertising activities they can use only mouth publicity and

references of the existing clients. First time ANGEL BROKING LTD.

is using some different advertising tools with mouth publicity for

establishing the business.

So we can conclude that Banda have small investors and all the

share trading companies are required to convince and search the

clients for business expansion.
