PolyU STEM Lecture Series (Tai Po)

In the 2015 and 2016 Policy Addresses, the Government pledged to promote STEM education with a
view to nurturing students’ learning interest, enhancing their creativity, collaboration and problem
solving skills as well as developing their innovativeness. Furthermore, students are encouraged to pursue
the study of STEM-related careers in the future for sustainable development of Hong Kong.

PolyU supports the initiative of strengthening STEM education in schools. In this connection, a series of
STEM lectures will be delivered by our professional staff from different disciplines. Details of the
Lecture in Tai Po are as follows:

Date: 16 March & 20 April 2018 (Friday)


Venue: Wong Shiu Chi Secondary School &
Carmel Holy Word Secondary School
Time: 4:30pm to 5:30pm (Registration at 4:15pm)
Target Students: Secondary Three to Five
Lecture Topics: There are six topics for selection
Language: Five lectures will be conducted in Cantonese and one will be in English
Remarks: Please refer to Annex 1 for details

Your teachers and students are cordially invited to join the two lectures. Due to limited seats, reservation
is made on a first-come-first-served basis. Please complete the attached reply slip (Annex 2) and send it
back to us by email (Email address:ssrs.office@polyu.edu.hk) or by fax (Fax No.: 2264 2120) before 13
February 2018 for follow-up action.
