1. What happens with the 60% of today’s world population? Why?

2. What happened with children entering grammar schools in the 16th to 18th centuries?

3. When Latin language declined, and modern languages began to enter schools, how
were those languages taught?

4. Look for an old book check on one of its units to analyze if this consists of chapters
and lessons organized around grammar rules, sample sentences, frozen rules, and
activities that require memorization; similar to what happened in the mid nineteenth
century. Please photocopy the unit and make a deep analysis, based on what you read
the History of Language Teaching, on your Methods and Approaches book.
