Morro Castle
This great landmark has a picturesque scenery and have been the
center of attraction of some famous artwork composed by John
Singleton Copley and Watson and the Shark. Inside the gates is an
exhibition on the lighthouses of Cuba – El Morro once housed a
school for lighthouse keepers. There was actually a watchtower here
until the British blew it up during their successful siege in 1762. The
Faro Castillo del Morro lighthouse was added in 1846. The cannons
around the fort are now badly rusted, but the walls are well preserved. The fort has central barracks
up to four stories high. A small underwater archeology exhibition is also located here.

Topes de Collantes
There are caves, rivers, falls, grottos, canyons, natural pools with
crystal clear water, mountain hills surrounded by mariposa but my
favourite is the waterfalls. The beautiful trees and crystal clear
waters that shows nature’s inner beauty. Coffee growers were
living in the area when president Fulgencio Batista ordered the
construction of a massive battleship-like Art Deco sanatorium for
tuberculosis patients in 1954. Cuba’s national flower announcing
their presence with a soft unique flagrance from June to early September. Important animal
species live here as well. They include the Cartacuba (Todus multicolor), Cuban ivory-billed
woodpecker (Campephilus principalis bairdii), unique hummingbirds, and the tocororo (Priotelus
temnurus), which is Cuba's national bird.

Gran Teatro de La Habana

The Teatro Tacón had occupied part of the site for decades. Its
grand auditorium hosted such European artists as Enrico Caruso
and Sarah Bernhardt. The principal venue is the García Lorca
Auditorium, with seats for 1,500; it provides a stage for the Cuban
National Ballet Company, as well as for other dance and musical
performances. The theatre also presents seasons of the Centre Pro-
Art Lírico with its performances of operas, zarzuelas, operettas and
concerts, plus the Spanish Ballet of Havana and performances by the Centre of Promotion of the
Dance.
