Pumps are necessary components inside an oil drilling rig. They’re designed to
accelerate the transference of fluid from one location to another. Without pumps,
refineries cannot operate, as oil displacement is essential to an oil rig’s entire operation.
Centrifugal pumps are also used in the upstream oil and gas industry as part of tri-
phase or multiphase pumping application. In addition, these pumps serve a wide variety
of applications with many types such as electric submersible pumps, which are used as a
water and oil separator in which water can be re-injected into a reservoir without lifting it
to the ground surface. They can transport a significant amount of low viscosity liquids in
a short period and can pump several hundred gallons of liquid per minute if the product
is compatible.
A common use for a centrifugal pump in the oil and gas industry is for the control
of the flow of fluids to the trip tank from its source (connected through a flow line). A
miniature of this set up best demonstrates the capability of the centrifugal pump.
A. Materials used
B. Procedures
1. Cut out the cover in the center of the circle and make a hole equal to the diameter
of the motor shaft. In our case, 3 mm.
2. Cut blade impeller. Stick to the disk. A ring on the blades were added to increase
the stiffness of the impeller.
3. Cut off the syringe at an angle and then slightly rounded scalpel for a snug fit to
the curve of the banks. Stick to the hot melt adhesive. Then superglue to glue
engine.
4. In the cover to make a hole for water intake ¼ inches in diameter and glue gun.
5. On the side to make a cut out for the syringe.
6. drop of superglue to the center of the impeller and fit onto the motor shaft. Drip
a little glue for a better setting.
7. On the inside of the lid cause hot melt and stick to the bottom of the jars.
8. Solder the wires to the engine and tie them in a knot.
9. Glue the motor housing to the pump casing, using hot melt glue. Place it carefully.
10. Seal the hole exit wire using hot glue.
11. The pump is ready.
