INTRODUCTION
This document describes the installation process and reference information for PBE’s
Minecom 24 V Power Station (02-00067).

OVERVIEW OF MINECOM POWER STATION


The Power Station provides power to amplifiers in (Non-Intrinsically Safe) underground
areas. The Power Station requires external AC power to operate and has a battery backup.

SUPPLIED
• Key to the unit
Inside the Power Station should be:
• Assembly kit containing two glands, mounting
brackets and mounting instructions and battery
connecting cable
• PBE’s Minecom Power Coupler
• Battery with two bolts, washers and spring washers
• Installation document (MAN-02-00067)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE (see Figure 2 above)


1. Assemble the glands into the holes in the base of the unit, and the mounting brackets
to the rear of the unit as per the instructions included.
2. An electrician is required to run mains power to the power socket through the closest
gland on the base of the unit.
3. Connect the batteries together (+ to -) using Battery cable
the supplied battery connecting cable (as
shown in Figure 3) then place the batteries
inside the unit and connect the batteries to
the installed battery cable. Use the bolts and
washer provided to tighten securely.

4. The power supply plug can now be connected to the power socket.
5. Using a multimeter, check for a voltage of 24 V
DC across the terminal blocks.
6. Run the DC cable from the terminal blocks
through the other gland to the Power Coupler on
the Leaky Feeder cable, ensuring polarity is
correct.
7. Close and lock the unit and check the LED on
the front is green.
