From Cancer Care Wards to Soothing Havens
A local nonprofit brings beauty to cancer patients
Happy Holidays Redwood Shores! December is a time to focus on
giving—both presents to our friends and family, as well as giving
back to our communities. To honor that spirit, I decided to focus this
month’s column on one of my favorite local nonprofits—Rooms at
Rock 4 Chemo (RTR4C). I had the privilege of serving on its board
from 2014 to 2015, and recently talked with my friend and

designers, artists, and other volunteers to turn drab cancer

At the time, I had retired from my corporate career and was starting

Good News: Redwood Shores Library
Hours to Remain Unchanged in 2019
anks to the passage of Redwood City Measure RR, a half-cent
sales tax measure on the November 6th ballot, the anticipated
reductions to library hours will not take place in January. I want
to thank all members of the community who shared their stories
and engaged with the conversation about what impacts library
reductions would have. We conducted an online survey during
the month of September, and the 180 responses showed that there
are a variety of opinions about the most important service hours
for the Library to offer, but the strongest preference is to maintain
as many evening and weekend service hours as possible. e chart
below summarizes the survey responses. e staff of the Library
looks forward to continuing to offer service 52 hours per week in
the year ahead. anks again for your engagement and support.
