Standard Competence: 1. Understand the meaning of descriptive text and very simple
monologue in the form of descriptive and recalculate to interact with the surrounding
environment.

Based Competence: 1.2 Understand the meaning of very simple monologue by using the oral
language accurately, continually, and express gratitude to interact with the surrounding
environment through the descriptive text.

Indicator:
In the end of the lesson students can:
a. Give the questions and answers about descriptive text.
b. Mention the characteristic of the things or person which being described orally.
c. Use Simple Present Tense sentence.
d. Describe something both in oral or written form.
1. The Lesson Goal:
In the end of the lesson students can:
a. Identify the purpose and the generic structure of descriptive text.
b. Identify the language feature of the descriptive text.
c. Write the descriptive text.
d. Explain something orally.

2. Lesson Material:
a. Language learning video (Descriptive text)
b. ESL’s song – she is tall (Describing people)
c. Descriptive text :
My Classroom
I want to tell you about my classroom.
My classroom is next to the school library.
It is a big and clean classroom.
It has two white doors and six brown windows.
The walls are green and there are some pictures on them.
There are twenty tables and forty chairs.

a. The Beginning Activity:
Apperception:
 Question and answer about anything about the students’ condition
How are you all?
Who is absent today?
What’s wrong with…?
At the last meeting we have studied…
 Question and answer about the name of the things in the class.
 Question and answer about the favorite idol.
 Question and answer about the characteristic about it.
Motivation:
 Giving the information, Saying thanks, Asking for apologize and Express Politeness.
b. The Main Activity
Exploration
In the exploration activity, the teacher:
 Involve the students to look for the broad information of the topic that will be
learned;
 Use various learning approach, learning media, and another learning source;
 Give the facilitation for each of the student and between the students with the
teacher, environment, and another learning source;
 Involve the students actively for each of the learning activity;
 Give the facilitation for the students to do the experiment in the learning process.
Elaboration
 Teacher ask the students to read descriptive text as the brainstorming;
 Teacher discuss the generic structure of descriptive text;
 Students watch the video about the descriptive text;
 Teacher and students discuss about the language feature of the descriptive text;
 Students answer the descriptive quizzes;
 Teacher ask the students to explain the picture in the power point orally;
 Teacher ask the students to answer the question related to the descriptive text;
 Students try to make a descriptive text.
Confirmation
In the confirmation activity, the teacher:
 Give the positive feedback and reinforcement in the oral, written, sign, or the gift for
the accession of the students,
 Give the confirmation toward the students exploration and elaboration through the
various source,
 Help to solve the problem, answer the students question when they face the
difficulties with the appropriate language,
 Give the motivation to the students who have not participate actively.
c. The Closing Activity
In the closing activity, the teacher:
 Ask the students the difficulties when they learn about descriptive text;
 With the students and/or by herself make the summary/conclusion of the learning
activity;
 Do the assessment and/or reflection toward the activities consistently;
 Give the feedback towards the learning process and the result;
 Give the students individual or group assignment;
 Give the learning plan for the next meeting.
