Year 11 English – SAC Preparation: Writing a Comparative Paragraph

To write an effective comparative essay, you need to be able to write effective paragraphs.

An effective comparative paragraph must demonstrate a detailed understanding of those aspects of

the text that supports the topic sentence you have for that paragraph.

In your comparison, you need to compare detailed events. Therefore you need to have a detailed
knowledge of the two texts AND the ability to compare the two.
