I will learn more about verbal and nonverbal strategies, including neutral modification techniques and
try to apply them in the classroom.

I can tell that I achieved my goal from my MST and MCT’s feedback and student’s work.

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)
Teacher will begin by greeting the students and performing the “Hello” song.
Teacher will then go over the attendance with the students by counting and asking them “Who is
absent?” and why?

Teacher will begin the lesson showing the students the story and discussing the cover page by
asking them questions;

Ask students to raise their hands whether they like/dislike a certain fruit.

Teacher will move on to introducing the story; this is Handa and she has a surprise for her friends,
shall we listen to the story and find out what the surprise is?

During the story, teacher will ask students; what did the (animal) take?

Teacher will play the memory match game by placing the fruits flashcards upside down and
choosing students who are sitting nicely to come up and play, students will repeat after the teacher
individually then as a whole group.
(Assessment: Asking questions)

Teacher will distribute students into different learning centers according to their group names.
Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)
Students in this group will be asked to name, feel, and smell the fruits and describe it to the
teacher or Ms. Hamda (MST).
Time: 10-15 min

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

Teacher will place white papers at the table and ask students to draw their favorite fruit from the
story and color it using their preferred materials.
(Assessment: identifying a fruit and drawing it)

Teacher will place a few opened fruits at the discovery center and allow students to look at it
through the magnifying glass.
Closing
Time: 5 min

Teacher will place in front of her the fruits while showing them a certain animal and asking them

which fruit did this animal take? Teacher will allow the students who are sitting quietly and
raising their hands to come up and choose the fruit and naming it independently and then as a
whole group.
