Journal 2

During my second week of TP I began by observing the classroom teacher Ms. Ebtihal and

English teacher Ms. Hamda’s teaching strategies and what learning styles they use. Both

teachers often use similar styles:

- Visual and Verbal: When using flashcards with pictures along with the word and have

students identify and name it.

- Physical and Logical: Plant a bean in class and explain the process.

- Aural: Showing students songs or short films related to the lesson that is being taught.

- Solitary (Intrapersonal): Students working independently on a drawing in the art center.

“Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.

Knowledge results from the combination of grasping experience and transforming it.” - David

Kolb (Kolb, D., 1984).

The date October 5 happened to be teachers day and although the student aren’t entirely familiar

with me they still considered me a teacher and got me gifts which made me feel grateful. When I

didn’t have any lessons to teach, I would sit and take notes on what teachers and student do

during introduction and activities. Since students were being taught about animals from the story

“Dear Zoo”, Ms. Hamda asked me to assess students by asking them to draw the animals from

the story or animals that they usually witness when visiting the zoo. On Tuesday I prepared for

my second lesson as well as my first MCT observation with Ms. Nadya.
