of selling sandwiches and finger foods that can compete with other stores present during

the Trade Fair.

B. History of the Business

Le Papay De Conrad was created through the efforts and camaraderie executed

last August 2018 by Grade 12 Saint Conrad Students. The firm’s name ‘Le Papay De

Conrad’ was derived from the class’ name which was Saint Conrad and the Le Papay

popped through the creative minds of the students which came from a reminisced

moment wherein as we’re in our younger years, we tend to say ‘papay’ instead of

‘tinapay’, the Tagalog translation of bread. Through that, Le Papay De Conrad was

formed which serves primarily sandwiches with blue lemonade and dished up with

chocolate-dipped pretzels and marshmallows.

The initiative done by Doctor Joann Amargo to conduct a trade fair was the start

of the whole business. The motivation given by the lady ignited the fire deep within the

student’s heart to luckily apply what they have learned for the subject Entrepreneurship.

The first ever Chairmen of the business were Imari Nicole Enderez and Maria

Erika Gail De Guzman. The two girls led the whole business and developed them through

the ideas and support given by the Co-Chairmen; Eldred Jed Mata and Rafael Escoto.

The business continued to run through the help of the other members of the business.

The contributions and desire of each employee constrained the whole business to

achieve its peak of success. Without further ado, Le Papay De Conrad was established

and ran as one of the best business in the Trade Fair 2018.
5

C. Office/Plant

As part of the Trade Fair, competitive stalls of different sections, specifically St.

Conrad’s Le Papay de Conrad will be located along G. A. Solis Street certainly inside

LCC Silvercrest Senior High School Annex Building which is part of the property of

Lipa City Colleges. The stall will be set up within Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium in 19

by 100 sq. meters in parcel.

The location of the stall is convenient to the target customers because it is within

the school vicinity and can be reached through walking. The business will function from

8 in the morning and will close 5 in the afternoon.

Inside the gym, the stall will be placed and will abide by its objectives to provide

the best sandwich that the Trade Fair 2018 would offer. The place was rented yet good

enough to sell products. The setting would be able to accommodate hundreds of

customers and will provide them choices of foods ready for them to satisfy their hungry

stomach. The business shall run from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on October 2-

4, 2018. After these, the whole business will be turned down and will exist to cease.

D. Personnel

In business, it is usually managed by different variation of works. It is composed

of logistics to make sure that the business is under control. It is also a need to be work by

team in order to make sure that they are properly monitoring the process. Moreover, it is

for the firm to make it continually running and to achieve the goals and objectives of the

business that are mentioned at the introductory part of this plan.

6

Meanwhile, Le Papay de Conrad gave its trust to its logistics which is worked by

38 students from St. Conrad.

The financing and purchasing team is led by Maribeth Arellano and Ariessa

Adelle Venturanza along with their members who are Warren Bonsai Remedios, Allen

Joshua Reyes and Mary Bernadett Flores. They are the ones that are responsible for

managing the funds that goes in and out of the business. From estimating the possible

expenses for the raw materials needed in producing the product to be sold, to managing

the profit gained when the business started in order to know if the business is already

returning its capital and having benefits from the previous expenses.

The marketing team is being led by Roscelle Garcia and Warren Malaluan

accompanied by Adrian Leynes, Henrick Jamess Lopena, Lee Andrew Lubi, Byrone

Tagle, Paolo Kier Toledo, Born Peach Baran, Trixie Bugarin, Erica Lugos, Nica Mojares

and Natascha Roise Olave. This team handles the promotion of the product in which they

will use multiple strategies that are further discussed in the marketing analysis. They

could be known as the face of the business for they will represent the product to each

customer.

Josephine Therese Racal and Kelly Yves Masangkay led the technical team with

their members, Jayson Isaga, Mike Peter Osmillo and Christian Daniel Titular. The team

focuses on the editing of the videos produced by the Vlog team. They will also be

responsible for the construction and decoration of the stall. They also created flyers for

the promotion strategy of the business.

7

Mary Antonniette Tapay and King Edward De Silva are the leaders of the Vlog

team; the members alongside them are John Edward Chavez, John Rey Quinto, Julia

Lescano, Honeyleth Magtibay and Leirica Resma. They are to document the happenings

of the Trade Fair, from the production until the inventory. They will film mini videos and

shall be edited by the technical team.

Lastly, the production team is led by Raven Leona Patungan and Irene Vince

Dolly Mendoza with Shane Sandoval, Chelsea Marey Orense and Jimwell Abrenica as

their members. They are going to prepare the products itself and assist every need of the

consumers regarding the product they are purchasing. This team holds the responsibility

of the overall presentation of the product and to make sure the sanitation of the whole

business.

In purchasing all the ingredients and supplies the financial team will gather all the

receipts. To monitor the sales of the business, the team have been divided and given

specific time frames to conduct an inventory within the stall itself. And after each day,

the team will sum up all the sales and will be using a balance sheet to organize all the

sales.

Furthermore, as first timer in this kind of field, the team of Le Papay de Conrad is

considered to be unskilled because they are not yet equipped with knowledge regarding

the principles of running a business. But with humility, the team is willing to do their best

to make sure that the product that we have will achieve its goals as a business. Moreover,

the relationship of the students from the section got stronger as we prepare for the

execution of the Trade Fair.

8

Yet, if they’re responsible enough to respond in regards with the business’ needs,

they’re about to receive incentives as gratitude to their excellent deeds.

E. Economic/Accounting

The business will gain profit through the use of different marketing strategies.

The team will work out the product’s tastes to make the target customers satisfy their

cravings as well as to reach their expectations toward our products. Through these

factors, the business will be profitable.

Meanwhile, the marketing strategies that Le Papay de Conrad team will use will

be further discussed and elaborated in the latter part of this paper.

Every business aims to be lucrative enough to replace the capital used, for

by Ariessa Adelle Venturanza and Maribeth Arellano searched for the necessary things

G. Legal

In a real context of the business, they are required to provide necessary licenses and

permits in order to make their business legal, but for the execution for the upcoming Trade

Fair our business is not required to prepare such documents and besides, this is just a small

ownership.

Moreover, Le Papay de Conrad is a corporation because it is owned by 38 students

that shares equal part of 2.63%. The formation of the business is still in process that’s why it

is not yet applied to have licensing requirements. The zoning and insurance requirements

and status are not yet settled. The health code requirements are still not included to this

activity. Notwithstanding, even though Le Papay de Conrad did not established this

legalities, the whole team will assure you that we are going to serve you our best sandwiches

with your money’s worth.

All business must undergo legalities to make their business real and capable of

operating. In regards with the business’ legality, Saint Conrad considered people to finally

legalize this business. A series of food tasting was conducted to show that the product is

good and well-served and a video was played as evidence that the product was prepared

well. In line with these, the following people signed this petition stating that Le Papay De

Conrad has passed sanitation and is allowed to operate as a Food Producing Business under

the Trade Fair.

18

Mr. Jonathan Burgos Mr. Marvin Panganiban

Ms. Joan Natividad Mr. Aldwin Jose

Mr. Froilan Salonga Mr. Lino Balantac

Ms. Kriselyn Acosta Mr. Eric Masupil

Ms. Kysia Perono Dr. Joann Amargo

H. Future Plans

The member of the team is looking forward in attaining profit yet they are focusing

more on the proper execution and incorporation of the basic principles of Entrepreneurship.

Le Papay de Conrad will soon be the trademark of St. Conrad and will be known for a long

period of time.
19

MARKETING ANALYSIS

The marketing team has the biggest responsibilities in when it comes to the

marketing analysis of the business. In having a business, customers serves as an

important people in this kind of field. That's why they must know the business’ target

market, the competition itself and also the environmental factors that may affects the

business, in which all is stated down below.

A. Customers (market)

The Le Papay de Conrad is included in retail market. The target customers of this

business are all Grade School students, Junior and Senior High School, Faculty members

and all the staffs of the institution. Average costumers like Senior High School Students

ranging from 16-18 years old with allowance estimated from 100-150 pesos are some of

the factors considered upon doing the pricing and making of the product. Consumers who

tried Le Papay De Conrad’s products will fit themselves in the assurance that they have

satisfied their need to eat and the money they spend would be worth it.

St. Conrad carries out this output because we believe that this product will satisfy the

needs and specially the cravings of our target customers. The market definitely needs our

product because it is part of the food industry and it is essential to the customers, the

product will endlessly needed by the market. The product’s tastes and quality deserves by

all ages. The sandwiches are within reach for those customers that are based inside the

institution. The customers will like our products because it is prepared by different

variety of flavors. The cold Blue Lemonade is there to reduce thirst and the sweets are

presented for the customers’ sweet tooth.

20

Le Papay De Conrad would be happy to serve consumers from Lipa City Colleges

from October 2 to October 4, 2018. We don’t consider the situation of a student, a faculty

member, staff, employees or even other sellers as a hindrance for them to experience Le

Papay De Conrad’s finest products. Yet, we are expecting more from the students of the

institution as the primary consumer of the foods we sell.

Even though the business would run three days only as part of the Trade Fair, the

idea of Saint Conrad, Le Papay De Conrad would still be open for anyone who wishes to

raise a business either inside or outside the Lipa City Colleges.

B. Environment

In establishing a business, the owner/s should be prepared in every change that may

affect your performances. But in our business, our product has no blot of dismay when it

comes in the food industry which is very relevant to the customers. But the only factor

that can affect our business is the economical factor because we have no control to the

prices of the raw materials that we need to make our products. When the prices increase,

there’s a possibility that the price of our product will also increase and with that the

customer will adjust to the prices of sandwiches that we are selling.

In life, we also experience tribulations and challenges to become stronger as we

continue our journey. In line with these, a business also has this occurrence as they grow.

Le Papay De Conrad anticipates factors like the Social and Technological Factors.

Though we are capable enough of marketing and selling these products, others might still

consider the stalls where they friends are. The influences of other students are so much

that we might not even tie up with them. Aside from these, though we are confident
21

enough that we have editors and skilled computer programming oriented classmates,

some of them are still not fully grown in this field. But, Le Papay De Conrad wouldn’t be

stocked only with their knowledge but of understanding others opinion and suggestion for

better performances.

C. Competition

As of now, the Le Papay de Conrad has 21 competitors in running a business. All the

competitors are just new in this field just like Le Papay de Conrad, the number of direct

and indirect competitors of our business doesn’t indicate here because the competition

and preparation is still confidential. Furthermore all the business that offers sandwiches

will be considered as direct competitors.

Trade Fair doesn’t just aim to test the student’s knowledge with Entrepreneurship

through practical application but also through thinking rationally and being able to

compete with other sections who participated in the said event. Le Papay De Conrad

won’t specify competitors for we consider all the participants, with or without the same

products, as contender in making the business profitable and growing.

D. Competitive Advantages and Disadvantages

From the statement of the previous section, indeed it is true that we see every stall

as a competitor. In this section we will further discuss why is that all of them were

considered as challenger.
22

STRANDS SPECIALTY AND STRENGTHS

Accountancy and Business Management Their strand focuses more on running a business for they

Strand are future businessmen and women and of course they

have prior knowledge upon doing this thing.

Home Economics Strand Their strand is molded and enhanced in doing catering,

designing and home and store services.

Humanities and Social Sciences Strand Their strand is the second largest strand and they have

bigger connections in terms with consumers. Other than

that, some of them we’re also wise in handling business.

Information and Communication Technology Their strand specialize technology which is also a part of

Strand the team made per class. They have the capacity to do

marketing with less hassle in social media and other

forms.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Their strand has all the connections they could offer and

Mathematics Strand they’re one of the strands of the department where skilled

students can be found.

23

Though these were stated as their edges among us, Le Papay De Conrad has

learned from the best, therefore they’re entrusted to apply what they have learned and

continue grow along with the other stalls.

E. Projections

Le Papay de Conrad aims to have a total member involvement to successfully

overcome endeavors in the Trade Fair 2018. Through that, we believe to come up with

numerous income brought by countless consumers and we are anticipating that this

business will be profitable.

Furthermore, to make the business more organized, the marketing team laid out the 7P’s

which are considered by most of the business to ensure that their firm is strong and progressive

enough to face the corporate world. That’s why as Saint Conrad established Le Papay De

Conrad; the students identified the 7P’s to achieve the goals that the business has.

 Product

Le Papay De Conrad offers sandwiches with three varieties of flavor. The egg

spread named as Eggable, chicken spread known as Chicken Nae Nae and the tuna

spread called Tuna Fire Tuna Limit. The business also produces sweets named as

ChocolaTe-a-Te and a drink called Lemona Azure.

 Place

The stall of the business is located in Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium, it is very

convenient for the customers to go to the location and buy the products that Saint

Conrad is selling because it is a walk-in type of store.

24

 Price

Each product has its own corresponding prices. The financing team ensured that

all the capital will be refunded and the business will also gain profit. The team came

up with the prices of sandwiches such as Eggable for P15.00, Chicken Nae Nae and

Tuna Fire Tuna Limit for P20.00, ChocolaTe-a-Te for only P15.00 and Lemona

Azure which costs P15.00. Le Papay De Conrad also offers combos to give customers

choices for them to save money. Therefore, if the consumers chose to buy combos

they will save P5.00.

 Promotion

Le Papay De Conrad promotes their product in a diverse variety of ways. One of

these is disseminating flyers to everyone. With these, the information about the

business will be spread throughout the location. Yet, this is not the only way of

promoting the product and the business itself rather, the whole section will be using

the “word of mouth” wherein the marketing team will be assigned to have

conversations with the customers while they are waiting or ordering for their chosen

product. On the other hand, the business created a commercial for promoting the

business. In these ways, the consumers will be familiar with the products that Le

Papay De Conrad is selling. Another way of promoting is the jingle, a song that will

showcase all the products of Le Papay De Conrad. Aside from these, there are also

badges included in the packaging of the products, these badges will serve as discounts

where in if the consumers collected enough number of badges signed, they'll receive

free sandwich of their choice with the drink that is sold.

25

 Physical Environment

Every business has their own place where every single process is held starting

from the selling up to the entertainment of the consumers. With that, as stated above

the stall is located inside the Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium. Wherein the section

along with twenty-one (21) other sections as well. There is a possibility that the venue

would be crowded but then the teams have their back-up plans to secure everything

that the business will be offering.

 Process

Everything has its own process, in line to this, to conduct this project; Le Papay

De Conrad had brainstormed about the possible product that the section will be

selling. Then the students searched for recipes and then decided on which would taste

the best. After that, the teams estimated everything, from the possible prices of the

raw materials, possible measurement of each ingredient, possible marketing plans and

the way they will reach their customers. As time went on, the team finally worked on

the exact prices, look and taste of each product they will be selling.

 People

In every business, people are definitely involved. A business can never work

without its workers, in this case, Le Papay De Conrad have their own set of students

working inside the business. The section was grouped into teams where they have

their own responsibilities and work as stated above. There are five teams, the

Marketing Team, Financing and Purchasing Team, Production Team, Commercial

26

Team and the Technical Team. There are also the overall chairmen and co-chairmen

who are assigned to delegate tasks and supervise the whole business.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Having a well plan strategy is a must for most of the start-up businesses in order to

get an edge among other firms. Meanwhile Le Papay de Conrad is attractive in terms of

advertising as aforementioned above because of their unique styles on how they are going

to present their products. They also have the high selling prices that will satisfy the

customers money’s worth. The average prices of our product are stated on the

Information of the Business, section Economic and Accounting.

A. Sales Strategy

In order to sell the products, Le Papay De Conrad thought of ways that will be

considered by the consumer upon buying the goods. One of these is the combos wherein

sellers will give 5 pesos discount from the original price to any combo meal. Second, for

any single purchase worth 100 pesos, the consumers will have one free Eggable

sandwich. Aside from these, badges are included in the packaging of the sandwiches.

With that, consumers who’ll keep 5 similar badges will be able to receive one free

product based on the badges they kept.

Through these strategies, Le Papay De Conrad will be efficient and appealing in

the eyes and ears of the consumers.

27

B. Promotional Strategy

To effectively spread the news about Le Papay De Conrad and the products it sells,

Saint Conrad will use the widely known tool for spreading information because of its

convenience. Students will post Le Papay De Conrad’s logo and the product it sells. Also,

it will be posted together with the commercial video. Attached with it is a parody song

for the business which will serve as the business’ trademark and will still be played

during the Trade Fair as part of the Marketing Strategy. The said post will be shared by

Saint Conrad students and will reach many costumers particularly those who study at

Lipa City Colleges.

MANAGEMENT

The first level in the Hierarchy of Needs developed by Abraham Maslow is the

Physiological Needs wherein one of that is foods. This is one of the basic needs needed

by a person to continue surviving in this world. Thus, it is good to choose Food

Producing Business since it’s needed anytime, anywhere. Aside from these, some of the

students from Grade 12 Saint Conrad already have the experience of selling and

marketing products personally. Either their personal way of living or experienced being a

working student or the likes. It is really necessary to put full attention in planning this

business for Saint Conrad believes in the saying that; “Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail”. So

through the help of our beloved teacher who sought to guide us, we’ve come up to this

point ready to face and be part of the Trade Fair 2018 competing and challenging

ourselves with the opportunity to understand how to build a business and how to run a

business.
28

FINANCIAL

The Le Papay De Conrad’s products that are offered wouldn’t be successful

without its capital, especially in terms of budget for its ingredients. And in this part of the

business, the financing and purchasing team takes the lead. For them they have to budget

the money that enters the business, in which they decided to collect money from all the

students in the section. And the collected money will be used in buying those ingredients

and supplies that will be used in making our products.

A. Source and Uses

The business, Le Papay De Conrad is owned by the students within the section Saint

Conrad, and because the business is new, all the cost that will be used to purchase all the

raw materials and supplies needed came from the students within the section. Every

student gave P100.00 each to sustain the needs on the first day of the trade fair.

Like what is stated above, on the first day, the business will be needing P2,329.00

for all the ingredients of the sandwiches, the sweets as well as the packaging and the

receipts. To know if the business will be receiving the money back, the financing team

estimated the number of products they are going to be selling on that day. In which if

they sold fifteen (15) of all the solo sandwiches and five (5) of all the combo, the

business will receive P2, 775.00.

29

CONCLUSION

Le Papay De Conrad already discussed the necessary information about business.

The first part of this paper contains the type of firm, its product, history, location, people

involved together with their tasks, economic or accounting, legal and future plans. With

that we concluded that knowing where the business belongs will serve as a guide on how

it will put up a start-up business. It is also a must to know our target customers because

they are going to be our basis in developing our business’ plan especially in pricing.

Meanwhile, we elaborated the market analysis in the middle portion of this

business plan. It includes the consumers who will be buying the products, environment or

the geographical location, competition or the rivals between stalls, competitive

advantages and disadvantages or the pros and cons of having competition, and

projections or the inventors of the products that are sold.

We must include those things in our business plan in order to be ready on every

circumstance that may arise in executing the trade fair. We inferred that market analysis

also discusses that 7P’s of a business or the product, place, promotion, price, physical

environment, process and people. The 7P’s is all about the whole competencies and

disadvantages of our business in different aspects.

More so, included in our business plan is the marketing strategy or the way on

how the teams are going to promote and introduce the product to the public using the

most appealing way. Next to this is how the people are going to manage the process and

execution of the plan for the trade fair. The team also deliberated all the financial sources

and uses.
30

Le Papay de Conrad is not just about providing what is needed but also to go

beyond the context of giving quality sandwiches. Hence, St. Conrad is confidently

dedicated to serve with a heart. Moreover, Le Papay De Conrad also reflects how strong

the bond of St. Conrad is as like of their spread. Generally, the business creates a product

made out of love, commitment and unity.

Overall, the section learned that a business will not successfully run without the

collective effort of everyone. Business plan is a really great and helpful tool in

accomplishing all the activities and tasks that are related to it. Hence, in order to achieve

the business’ goals and objectives, the students have to familiarize themselves with this

kind of plan.
