Information Technology, a Course to take in College

Since our generation today is more on technology and modernization, Information

Technology has been well known as a course to take in college. Because of our daily usage of
phones, laptops, and computers, most students prefer this as an ideal course to enroll in. It has
known to be the easiest, because we know and we can relate to it; the most continent, since
everything involves computers and technologies. IT can also be used and can be resourceful in
different fields. If Information Technology would be considered, it would lead to a better country
and also a better world.

Sending and receiving money has been much easier and faster in the field of business
finance and management because of IT. small online businesses are made accessible now. It has
allowed lenders, insurance companies, and business to run a quick check on you to open credit.
Khushu (2018) emphasized that “IT is essential to all smart enterprises. From customer
relationship management, to management information systems to emails, everything runs on an IT
infrastructure”. Michael Dell spoke about how the PC market has tripled in the past ten years, how
proliferation was causing technology to move faster, and how IT has become a primary driver of
economic growth. He cited a study indicating that IT in- vestment contributed to GDP growth of
27 per- cent in the big industrial economies between 1995 and 2003. When it comes to healthcare
IT has made records easier to be organized through the use of different software. Information
technology has also updated the technology a doctor can use to diagnose or treat you. Using
computerized axial tomography (CAT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, the doctor
can use a computer to create detailed images of your organs along with creating; images that show
changes in your body chemistry and blood flow. This can be helpful to find illnesses that aren’t
found with blood tests or other medical tests. IT also plays an important role in protecting patients
and nurses, through the elimination of nurses’ mistakes and negative exposure. Access from past
records of patients has benefited in more precision in prescription of medicine of doctors that may
affect patients with connected and related diseases. IT however can expand nursing knowledge by
facilitating evidence-based nursing. The University of Minnesota defines it as “the process by
which nurses make clinical decisions using the best available research evidence, their clinical
expertise and patient preferences”.

Information Technology has proven itself as a course that can be used in different fields,
such as Business, Healthcare and Nursing. It makes it business easier and faster; makes health
records organized and accessible; and it protects nurses and patients in the field if nursing. It makes
If you aren’t sure of what course you would take then you could just end up taking IT, because as
mentioned it has flexibility in different specialization. It can therefore make the world better. IT is
all around important, it makes things easier, accessible and it contributes a lot to make the world a
better place
