Reflection
Today was my first teaching practice lesson which was about math, it was an exciting lesson. My lesson
was about ones and tens; the students should differentiate between them.
WWW First, I like my class so much; I did as much as I can to make it a creative lesson. I started with an
excellent opening, which was a short video about the lesson that made the students ready to accept the
lesson. I Prepared my lesson to be clear and will presented, so I didn't feel lost at all. Furthermore, did all
the parts in a punctual and I had a very good class management. At the end when I closed the lesson I
reviewed some points with the student to be sure if they understood well by asking them some question and
give them a work sheet ,also I repeated with them some key vocabulary to ensure that they understand the
vocabulary . "According to Dan the child learn by repeating over and over "(Don, n.d.).Finally, I think I need
to work on my language and try to enhance it, to be a professional teacher in the future.
Behavior management I faced one little problem with a student, who was laughing. When I was explaining
the lesson he district all the students, I controlled his bad behavior by asking him to stop laughing then I
ignore him, and completed my lesson, after a while he stopped and paid attention. I figured that without any
punishment I could solve such a problem. In addition, there is one point that made me upset and nervous
which was that my MST told me that I will teach only one part of the lesson but when the class started she
asked me to teach whole lesson and I did not prepare for that. But I overcame this problem and explain to
the student smoothly and easily. Clapping and reinforcement were excellent, and they liked the praise.
Groupings/differentiation I did four differentiate activity. The low ability activity was good, but at the
beginning, some of the students faced problem with this game. However after went well, so the students
capable to solve it, because they work with a teacher as a group ,and she helps them (guided) ,they felt
enjoyable when they solve, because it was bingo game and they should all win after repeating.
Furthermore, if the children repeat anything repeatedly they can learn better. “According to Pavlov Children
learn through repeating as Pavlov did with his experiments with dogs”.
The average students have a small white board with a card of numbers to make ones and tens. Then each
one ask there partner to identify the ones and tens, this activity went well and all of them understand how to
make the numbers. The high students have a laminate flash cards that divided in a three parts such as
ones, tens and a place that the student write the number, then they try to make numbers and solve it to get
a result ,they was very clever students and they solved the activity smoothly .
Next Steps in learning and teaching I will try to fine other way for teach the math lesson for instance
some materials that they can feel more enjoyment or teaching outside the classroom for example in the
playground .
