rotating, or sliding the shape, with teacher support and
multiple experiences over time. (Focus: Star)

Smart board – speakers – “How to catch a star” I need to check the technology if its working or not to use
big storybook – Story puppets - tent – glow in the plan B. E.g. if the data show is not working I will sing the
dark tars - shapes flashcards e.g. star, circle, song by myself. Also I need to check my materials for the
square and triangle. activities and make sure that they are all on tables and
enough for all the students to work on the activities.
Activity one: Star worksheet – colours – glue – tin.

Activity two: Containers – Shapes flashcards
Star – circle – square - triangle – rectangle
Activity three: Ice cream sticks – glue – googly eyes.
I will show the students the shapes flashcards and I will ask them about each shape.
I will read “How to catch a star” story for the students using the story puppets
I will ask the students different questions about the story e.g. where and can we see the stars and which
shape they have learned.

I will call the students one by one to go inside the tent and to look up to discover what’s in it. (glow in the
dark stars)
Students will colour /Ss/ letter and sound, the word “Star” and they will stick the tin on the star.
Students will make a star using the colourful ice cream sticks.
I will play clean up song to encourage the students to clean up
I will march with the students to the mat

I will make a checklist and put a tick beside children names who will be able to recognize and draw the star
shape.
