A. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
K- Define predicting outcomes
S- Perform the predicted outcome of the given story
A- Display cooperation during group activities
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Lesson: Predicting Outcomes
Materials: Copies of the story, Manila paper, Markers, Visual Aids

III. PROCEDURE
A. Awareness
 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Motivation
1.) The teacher will group the students into 2.
2.) The teacher will give each group a manila paper, a short text, and a task card.
3.) The teacher will ask the students to guess what will happen next and write
their answer on the Manila paper. A representative of each group will read
their work after.
B. Activity
1. The teacher will present a story titled “The Four Smart Students”
2. The teacher will start to read the story and then will let the class continue reading
the story in chorus.
3. The teacher will ask the students to remain in their group.
4 . The teacher then will give each group a task.
-Group 1- Perform a role play of a prediction that shows a happy ending.
-Group 2- Perform a role play of a prediction that shows a bad ending.

C. Analysis

E. Application
Read the following situations. Predict what will happen next.
1.) Ben always had trouble getting up in the morning. His mother usually had to call him at
least twice. He'd already been late for school three times this month. Mom had already
called him once and now headed up to his room and knocked on the door. When he didn't
respond she walked in and found him fast asleep!
2.) Mrs. Fox opened her letter box. Surprised, she found the letter she had sent her sister the
day before. Mrs. Fox looked at it. Then she saw why it had not gone to her sister.

F. Assessment
Elijah’s mom had told him he was not to touch her computer when she wasn’t home. But Elijah’s
friend, Perry, had told him anout this great new online game. Elijah thought that if he just went
online quickly to checkiit out, it would be no big deal. After he turned the computer on, he hit a
wrong key, and deleted his mom’s work. He tried ahrd to find it, but he hand no luck. What do
you think will happen next?

G. Assignment
Read the essay “The Human Nutrition Machine” found on pages 61-62 of your Ventures in
Communication textbook.
