AAWC  Lesson  Reflection  (Completed  after  EVERY  lesson  taught)

Select  (S):
1.1.12.1: Identify missing parts of 10. This lesson went well and it was about knowing which two
numbers gives the sum of 10.

Describe  (D):
What  were  you  trying  to  achieve  in  your  lesson?  I  was  trying  to  achieve  the  lesson  outcome  and  learning
objectives.  Whereas  also  make  the  students  understand  and  realize  that  they  can  add  different  and
many  numbers  to  get  the  sum  of  10.

What  did  the  students  do?  The  students  were  on  track  on  what  I  was  telling  them  to  do.  They  had  a
questions  related  to  the  previous  lesson  that  they  had  to  answer  to  refresh  their  mind.  One  of  the
questions  was  3+3  is  equal  to  what.  For  a  fun  warm  up  and  revision,  two  students  had  to  come  and  roll
two  dices,  and  write  the  numbers  that  they  got  to  add  them  and  get  the  answer.  When  it  was  activity
time,  the  students  were  distributed  a  small  piece  of  paper  that  had  a  drawing  of  a  house,  they  had  to
write  two  numbers  on  each  side  and  draw  circles  depending  on  the  numbers  they  wrote  to  add  them  up
and  get  the  sum  of  10,  the  answer  was  written  on  the  roof  top  of  the  house.  After  that,  they  were
assessed  by  me,  they  had  to  raise  their  thumbs  up  if  they  felt  they  achieved  the  lesson  objective  or  put
their  thumbs  down  if  they  felt  that  they  did  not  understand  and  needed  help.

Analyze  (A):
Why  do  you  think  the  students  responded  the  way  that  they  did?  I  think  the  students  responded  the
way  that  they  did  because  they  understood  my  instructions.  However;  there  were  some  low  ability
students  who  needed  more  guidance,  and  I  did  guide  them.

How  well  did  your  teaching  relate  to  the  students’  prior  understanding?  My  teaching  was  related  to  the
student’s  prior  knowledge  by  them  knowing  and  understanding  how  to  add  two  numbers  to  get  a  sum  of
a  number.
How  well  did  you  engage  the  students?  I  engaged  the  student  by  first  making  them  do  a  warm  up  and
come  to  the  board  to  dance  and  sing  the  numbers  1-‐20  song,  then,  making  them  tell  me  what  date  is  it
today  and  what  month  and  year  are  we  in.  Also,  by  giving  good  feedbacks  and  using  nice  comments  and
motivating  them  by  giving  them  a  star  or  a  stick  to  stick  it  beside  their  names  on  the  reward  chart  for
points

Appraise  (A):
Did  your  lesson  meet  your  teaching  goals?  Yes,  the  lesson  met  my  teaching  goals.

Transform  (T):
How  might  you  enhance  student  learning  of  this  lesson  in  the  future?  I  might  enhance  student  learning
of  this  lesson  in  the  future  by  making  them  develop  the  simple  questions  to  more  challenging  ones.

What  are  the  implications  for  your  professional  practice?  The    implications  for  my  professional  practice  is
to  make  the  students  have  a  major  understanding  of  adding  numbers  mentally.
