Apples

Unit Overview: This unit on apples will be used to teach concepts from Math, Science,
language arts, and Art. I however, will only be covering math. This theme unit on apples will be
divided into separate sections focused on different big ideas. We will begin with patterns and
recognizing the attributes and elements within patterns. The second half of the apples unit will
be recognizing numbers 1 through 10. This will include counting, sequencing, and subitizing.
Further big ideas will be met through the apples unit if time permits.

Theme Unit: Apples part I – Patterns

Big Idea: Repeating Elements in Patterns can be identified.

Learning Outcomes:
